Sleeping Beauty on Betamax

Hey nice people,

Maybe someone can help me out here. A teacher at my daughter's day care has Sleeping Beauty on Betamax. The tape was played only 10 times at the most and the box it came in is in great shape, almost mint. She was wondering if there is/was a great demand for Disney films on Beta. She has no intention of parting with it, but wanted to know if it has any value. The last time I saw a Disney Beta movie on Ebay, it sold for an obscene amount of money. I believe it was Lady and the Tramp. Can anybody help me so I can let her know. Thanks.

I did a search on eBay and found several auctions for movies in Beta format. Most that were completed had no bids on them, and I saw several lots of movies, but none for a real high dollar amount.

It's probably a supply and demand issue. I'm sure there are collectors who specialize in Betamax movies, but how many people still have Betamax players?

Boy, there's a word you don't hear everyday....."Betamax"......almost sounds like "VHS"....LOL

Its the lack of Machines that makes it hard to sell, a well known title like Sleeping Beauty may go for a few dollars, but a regular beta movie goes for not much or nothing at all.

Tell her to try and list it with a high reserve and see if she get any takers, tell her to hurry since it came out on DVD demand will be low.
