I hate posting questions I know have been answered here previously, but with the search feature down and our trip starting in less than two weeks I'm starting to run out of time....

If anyone could post some suggestions for a hotel we could leave our car at near DTW for 8 days I'd appreciate it. We live >2 hours away from DTW and have a 7:00am flight out so we'd like to stay overnight and not be so rushed in the morning. Thanks, all.

In October, we stayed at the Best western near the airport and it was great. They a pool, hot tub, comp.shuttle and total it was about $99 for the room and parking for the week. You couldn't beat it. I can check to see if I still have the number for you, if you want.

Hi
We stayed at the Baymont and it was $89 in November. That included parking your car for 10 days. Be careful alot of hotels are for 7 days.
It was clean and they offered the breakfast but our plane left too early. The van gets called to take you to the airport as soon as you are in the lobby
Have Fun :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I found the Baymont on a website and it's showing $75 for a night and 10 days of parking. They also mention they have on-site parking. Is that in a secured area or is it just in the regular parking lot? Thanks.

If you are leaving on a Sat or Sun, look into the Westin. The rate for President's day weekend is $119, which included 8 days of valet parking. You drive up to the westrin the night before, you don't need to go outside again until you arrive at your destination airport, and when you return to DTW, someone will bring your car to you without you needing to trudge to it.

We did this last year for our Disney trip. It was FABULOUS. A luxurious start to our vacation.

Another vote for the Westin. Our party of three stayed at the Westin in October. We flew northwest so it was just a short walk to check-in and it was all indoors. I have also done a park and fly with Ramada Inn(ick) and Marriott(very nice). Both used a secure lot and provided bus service to the airport. The only problem we had was a very huge snowstrom occured while we were at Disney and on returning almost couldn't find our truck, it was buried under a moutain of snow(lol). That was the last time we will ever park outside during the winter months. Our door lock's were frozen shut and of course no remote start. We were frozen solid by the time we managed to get in the truck. At that point we just wanted to hop on a plane :wizard: and head back to florida. :teleport: . This really wasn't an option so we grumbled a little and headed home. Have fun, Susan

Hi!
We live about 20 minutes from DTW (near Ann Arbor) and we're actually considering the same idea. Since we leave at 6am it seemed like a better option than trusting a limo/car service (we'll be at airport at 4am!)
I've also checked out the Best Western- that's the hotel our school uses when we bring folks in from out of town.
Keep posting! I'd love to hear your experience (We go in 3 months)
Thanks!

In today's mail, I received a "Lodge, Park & Fly Package" coupon for the Comfort Inn and Quality Inn by Detroit Metro. The coupon indicates 7 days of "secured parking." The rate is $79.95 plus tax. Because it doesn't give the 8 days of parking you need, this might not help. I thought Wayne County managed to stop some of the long term parkers at hotels because they weren't getting enough parking tax revenues. That might have been awhile ago.

Anyway, I would be happy to mail the coupon to whomever wants to pm me with their address. (I just dug it out of the trash -- we find flying from Lansing is better, even when we go through Detroit. Often less expensive and security is less of a hassle.)

Does anyone know which of the hotels listed here (Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Best Western, Baymont) have a secured lot for parking? We stayed at a HoJo a couple of years ago and you just left your vehicle in the regular hotel lot near the front door. I was a little leery of that and would rather go to a place with a secured lot, if possible. Thanks.

Well, I've booked a night at the Baymont for the trip. I'll report back on it after we return.
