Anyone have this bed? If so, is it as good as advertised? Thanks

Funny you should ask this question. We have had ours for 4 days now. We got the queen 7000 with the wireless remote. We ordered the foundation, but ended up not putting it on the frame and just used our old box spring.

The bed will take you about 30 minutes to put together. The instructions were very easy.

My sleep number in the store was 45, but I upped it to 50. Actually, the first night I had it I slept at 35, but it was too soft.
Now that I am at 50, I am happy.

However, dh (the one with the good back) is having problems finding his sleep number. He has woken up every day with a hurting back.

The bed takes a night or 2 to get use to, but after that it's good. Well, at least it has been for me.

It does have a different feel than a regular mattress. Actually, the first night I thought it was rather noticeable that I was sleeping on air. After the first night I couldn't tell though.

Other people have said that they notice the divide in the air chambers and that they don't like it. I think that it is noticeable, but something that you can get use to. Especially, if you like a firmer bed.

If it were up to me we would be keeping the bed, but it looks like we will be sending ours back if dh doesn't find a good sleep number. What a pain too because he has already crushed and sent the boxes to the recycle dumpster. We have to go out and buy boxes to ship it back.

Hope this helps!

I went to the Select Comfort store at the mall a few weeks ago and tried out the Sleep Number beds. I really liked the mattress, and felt that I'd be happy with it after fiddling with the sleep number a little. But then the salesperson quoted the prices and I knew I'd be waiting for a while. :o

OMG!

My DD6 got up 3 nights ago about 2am, I was up in the living room, and she said 1/2 asleep

"Mom I cant sleep....everyone has a sleep number, and I need to find mine"

The next morning, at breakfast I said- Dani, what were you talking about last night- about a sleep number?

And she said "well, you know mom, EVERYONE has one....and I need to find mine....I need a new mattress"

LOL so my 6 year old would LOVE one!

I have a friend who has had one about 4 years now and swears by it. She hates going on vacation and leaving her sleep number behind. I tried it out at the mall and thought it was just okay (I really wanted to try one of those tempurpedic's).

We're on our second sleep number bed, DD now has the first one bought 15 years ago. Love, love, love that bed. Radisson Hotels are getting them, if you want to try one out. My DH wants to stay at Radisson now when we travel. But honey, we have DVC!

Thanks for all of your help. I priced 1 online and it came to $3000 which would be worth it if I knew it would help with lower back pain for my husband and I. Doesn't seem like it is worth the money at this time. We probably both just need to lose weight :D

DH and I have had ours for 2 1/2 yrs. now. I do not like it at all but DH likes it. Actually, I really hate it but DH has a bad back and it seems to help him a bit.

I asked my physical therapist if there was a bed that was very good for bad backs and she told me that the Select Comfort was the best in her opinion. I wish I had asked her about the Temperpedic (sp?) bed; which one was the best of the two. Does anyone have the Temperpedic bed? I would love to hear their opinions on this bed, also!

We've had ours for over a year and we love it. We call it the Bubble. On vacation, we miss our bubble.

Wen we first bought it, our foundation order was screwed up. Being impatient, we put the mattress on top of the box spring. It was awful. We were ready to return everything. Then the platform came and it was a totally different experience. Apparently, the mattress needed a completely flat and firm surface for best results.

We too have noticed the divide in the middle. I've learned to stay on my own side. On occasions when I sleep alone, I pump up the other side of the bed to a high number. That keeps me from rolling off my side. Chris readjusts it when he returns later.

This bed has been great. I'm a side sleeper and it completely supports my spine. I don't wake up with back pains anymore.

My sleep number hovers between 45 and 50.
