Day 4-August 24, 2004
I have to admit that I love getting up first thing and NOT having to do my hair because we are going swimming or to a water park first thing.
That is what we decided for today, since the kids have been loving swimming, we decided to hit Blizzard Beach.
We were to the Jamaica Bus Stop at 9:30 a.m. and the bus came pretty quick. We got to the park about 5 minutes before it opened. My sister and my DH decide they will be the brave ones and do Summitt Plummet. They wanted to do this right away so they wouldn't have to be waiting in line. This meant Auntie Kris was now the sole caretaker of 3 nieces who were not very happy that their fun to wait while two big adults got to have fun before anyone else.
Since my sunglasses had fallen in the river of the Maelstrom attraction in Norway yesterday, I decided I'd get a new pair, so we did that first. We then wandered into the kids area of the park that looks over at Summit Plummet near Tykes Peak. I didn't want to start running all over the park with the kids as my DH and sis would never find us, so we kind of waded in the water in the kids area and then went to sit by the area where SP lets out. We waited for over 45 minutes and the kids were very angry. I wasn't about to watch kids in water all by myself, so I apologized to the kids and when DH and sis came back we gave them the cold shoulder and then we all went to Teamboat Springs. I hate walking up all those steps to get to the top, but the ride was definitely worth it and longer than I anticipated, we had a blast on this ride and all of 6 of us fit in one raft so it was even more fun.
After this ride we went to Cross Country Creek and all six of us floated on the lazy river, it was funny because we were each holding on to each other so we'd be together, it was nice and relaxing, but while we were floating the sky started getting ominous and the sun had disappeared, but we floated all the way around and then headed to the big swimming pool area with the waves and stuff, we were lucky to get a big inner tube for this and we all had a good time, but the weather was not improving and the typical "I'm hungry" was coming out of the mouths of babes and DH, so we decided to head back to CBR.
On tap for the evening was a trip to Disney Quest and so we headed for DQ using our rental car. At first we liked DQ, but after a few of the attractions, we found it to be mostly a giant video arcade.
We tried Aladdin's Carpet, and I liked that, but DH got sick from it and actually threw up from it. My four year old liked it until she saw the scary villains and then she started crying. We all loved the Jungle Cruise and my DH didn't get sick on that one. I think our favorite was Buzz Lightyear, me and my niece Jessie did this one, however it took us awhile to figure out how to work it, you have to role over soccer balls to get your amo, we finally figured it out and did better our second time on it.
No one but me wanted to design your own roller coaster and ride it, so I skipped it. We played several video games and even some pinball, but really we were not too impressed with DQ. We used to have one in Chicago but it closed and I think I can see why.
After DQ we walked along PI for awhile and went to the Candy Cauldron and everyone picked out a treat, the fudge was to die for and me and my sis split some.
We headed back to the resort and decided to just eat dinner at OPR and then we took a late evening swim before turning in because tomorrow was CRT at 8:30 a.m.
