SL or HNY

We are looking at booking for Xmas 2014 and just wondered which hotel people prefer please, I have stayed at SL and was thinking of the HNY this time but reading some reviews I don't know if this is the right choice, is it a hot buffet breakfast at HNY ie bacon eggs etc as that may sway it

Yes, and this is one of the two factors that swung it for us for our Christmas trip this year. That and the closer walking distance when the weather is likely to be freezing cold. We love the SL and it is very festive there at Christmas but hot breakfasts and a nicer breakfast setting altogether really as well as park proximity won out for us.

We've stayed in both hotels at Christmas time and it is a tough call to choose between the two.

For me the SL has a more traditional Christmas feel inside, log fires anyone?!! The colour scheme is more traditional too which I prefer.

However, I love the HNY outside tree & ice rink and as a hotel it feels a bit more special to me. Hot breakfast items are a bonus and I think breakfast is generally more enjoyable here.

The walk is not much further to SL and there is always the bus if it's really cold/wet/snowy.

I'm not sure I'm helping much! Last year I initially booked SL but upgraded to HNY on an offer as it is DH's perferred hotel.
