We just got off the skyliner from Epcot to Riviera(headed to Pop/AA) and unfortunately got stuck ...it was “only” 30 minutes but from a fairly high point on the line it’s not a great feeling. Especially when they move 20 feet and stop short -good times! I’ve had better times on vacation. Of course, I probably should have used the Epcot facilities before boarding but figured I’d roll the dice. What was strange was the fact that they had what looked like a large amount of cast members working ...and once boarded thought it was strange. Could be mere coincidence -who knows. I don’t want a free vacation, fast passes(havent used one in 3-days), or really anything. But when you disembark and the cast members say “hello” you’re bound to get a really sarcastic response from me ...sorry I’m just like that. We received an announcement right before we finally got moving saying we would have to arrange transportation to our intended destination. We did and just got back. I’m thinking that possibly Disney is becoming desensitized to this and it is now the new normal. To me 10 minute isn’t too bad but 30 is pushing it. But to not even receive an apology is absolutely ridiculous. The people that know me here, know that I’ve been coming here consistently for probably 30-years ...I can accept a lot of faults. The customer service regarding this event tonight is way beyond my threshold. We‘re all safe so in the end we lost an hour or so of our vacation (on top of the 30 mins or so because of the mess yesterday morning at HS and the RotR changes). My advice if you’re reading ....do not ride the Skyliner! And if you do ...be sure to hit the head before boarding!

I'm sorry it stopped for 30 minutes when you were on it, no one likes a delay.

Stoppages are always possible on any form of transport, and most of us veteran Disney goers have experienced that at least once (for some of my family it was a bus completely breaking down, second longest is the monorail stopping on the rail). It happens in every aspect of life, so I don't expect it to be any different at Disney, nor can they help it. Whether car, bus, monorail, Skyliner, boat or whatever form, stuff breaks down. So far, barring the first week issues of the Skyliner, it seems to be running fairly smoothly. I love it and can't wait to ride it again, some don't like it, and that's ok too.

I don’t have a fear of heights in general, my daughter was a little uneasy. But until you hanging 100’ + above the ground looking at a ladder tied to a metal pole thinking, am I climbing down that thing in an hour or so? It's kind of hard to Put yourself in that position ...certainly not a bus breakdown. That’s ridiculous, but appreciate where you’re coming from. Had they communicated what was happening by maybe saying an emergency evacuation won’t be necessary ..something to ease anyone who had real fears, that would have helped. Instead we got some jumbled message about it being delayed. Maybe I’m just venting. Maybe it was just a dream!

I understand the heights thing, many people have an issue with that, but statistics make me more nervous... which is why having an issue with a car or bus would make me as nervous, or more so than the Skyliner. Hopefully I never have to know but I think I'd also rather be evacuated from the Skyliner than the Monorail, but that doesn't stop me from going on the Monorail even though I've read several first-hand accounts here on the boards about what that entails.

I do think different people are bothered by different aspects of Disney's service (or lack thereof), so it's ok to be annoyed, we all are at some point.

Thanks for the heads-up. We'll definitely avoid the Skyliner on our next trip. It really stinks how that happened & Disney didn't back it up with excellent customer service. Sorry that happened to you!

I had every intention of skipping the Skyliner last month, but when it’s a few steps from your room and there’s never a wait it’s hard to resist. We rode it almost every day for a week and loved it. We had one delay of maybe 3 minutes.

I’m glad we rode it. I have gotten to the point of despising the buses.

Same situation here. We rode it a couple times and enjoyed it and the convenience. The best way I can explain it is, until you’re up there wondering what’s going on and how they’ll get you down ...it’s hard not to have a level of concern for your(or your family’s) well-being. Forget the Skyliner issue -to offer no apology or concern for us is a total failure. Did someone need a water? Where were you headed -can we help get you there easily? The most basic customer service steps weren’t taken. You’d get better service at a gas station ... Embarrassing.

I agree. To say you have to find your own way to your destination is absurd. There are already buses to DHS. Much of CBR is an easy walk, and there are also internal shuttle buses. They should have provided transportation to Pop & AoA, whether by bus, Minnie Van, 13-passenger van, taxi, or Lyft.

I was wondering why I had to lyft it from Epcot to Pop tonight. This morning we had two minor delays and it seemed "off" compared to other times I've ridden it. Sorry you got stuck!

I'm so sorry that happened :(. I get that things can go wrong, equipment, machines, transportation, rides, etc. all break down sometimes. But, it's not okay that you got no apology, or no explanation. Even if it's through no fault of the worker, they are being paid (even if it's not a lot) by the company to provide a service and Disney is charging their customers a LOT of money to be there. Even if they can't help something breaking down, they should be at least treating their paying customers properly. It's not like you're demanding extra 'pixie dust' or something. A simple "I'm very sorry for the long delay" is what should have been given and they should have checked to make sure you were okay once you got off (again, asking someone should only take a couple of seconds, especially when there are young kids, and elderly who may have experienced a shock, or claustrophobia with the wait, etc).

I think any delay of over 10 minutes where you are hanging in midair deserves at least an offer of an extra FP. Especially if they didn't announce the reason you were hanging up there or what to expect. And I've already thought about how I would be sure to stop by the restroom just before I board the Skyliner, just in case!

OP make sure you email wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com so they know what happened and the response, or lack thereof, you got.
I've been using the skyliner about once a week ever since it opened and never been stopped for more than 5 minutes, so this is an anomaly, but they should've acknowledged the issue when you exited

They‘ve reached out to me, but we had a late show of Rise of Skywalker last night so wasn’t able to talk. I’ll get with them this morning. It wasn’t a random phone call ...pretty sure twitter post probably caused the reaction. Although they sounded genuinely concerned. Thanks for the info!

how many times do you email that email a month?

I agree they should be more "apologetic" anytime Skyliner has a problem, but the only way to avoid any chance of a Skyliner problem is to just stick with pre-Skyliner transportation all of which is still operating.

To me the chances of a major problem happening at any one time are still so low,I am willing to take the risk, but each Guests has to make that decision.

Why would you climb down? You were safe, and in no danger. If there was an issue they would get you. Its Florida, last night was 60 degrees? Imagine being stuck on Loon Mountains Gondola hanging off a mountain in minus 15. If people are going to be scared if it stops, they shouldn't ride it to begin with.

Sorry but I travel a ton as part of work both by train and air. The difference is if we get stuck on a runway for 30 mins or have to wait for oncoming traffic on the train I have a restroom, my laptop, and typically water with me. Not to mention a climate controlled environment.

There is huge difference between that and the Skyliner.

If that is acceptable to you I personally feel sorry for you.

2 hour train ride each way 2 days a week and 2-3 flights every other week typically for the year. With a bus it's even easier I can step off the bus and walk or they typically call another bus to pick you up.

I feel like they should have banned ECV and or mobility issue passengers on the skyliner. Having to pull off cabins the line seems to cause alot of issues. I'm sorry if this seems harsh.

I wonder if this is the first skyliner that has the pull off because most at ski resorts are just go,go,go . I could be wrong tho. New tech with some bumps in the learning.
