Skyliner from POP to HS, Then Walk To International Gateway?

On my Epcot day, it opens at 12PM and HS at 9AM.
Reports of using the Skyliner to go from Pop to Epcot for opening sound pretty terrible based on lines at CBR.
I was thinking to walk over to AoA for the bus, but is there any reason why I couldn't take the Skyliner to HS around 9AM and then walk over to the International Gateway? Or is there something I am not considering that makes that undoable?

Right around DHS opening time you'd probably be running into lines, too. Maybe try at 10-11ish, when the initial rush to DHS dies down.

In my experience, even when the lines look super long they move pretty quickly. When the line was snaking through the bus stop area at the CBR Skyliner station it still only took about 20-25 minutes to get on.

I was thinking to try and get there by 1045 to beat the first round of Epcot Skyliner guests and be ready if they open early. Hopefully it would just be some BW guests who walked over early ahead of me.

I guess I could also go to CBR early and be front of the line for the Epcot Skyliner. But I didn’t want to chance it not running until close to park opening.

We were at the CBR station last Friday trying to get to Epcot around opening (first day of Holiday festival and a holiday week). Line was wrapped around all over. A manager type CM actively/persuasively told us the wait would be 25-30 mins and said we’d be better off taking the DHS line (which was empty) and walking. We did as the CM suggested (we don’t mind the walk and weren’t in a hurry), but I found the situation sort of funny.

Did you happen to notice if it seemed favorable in the end? Or did it seem like plenty of people were getting off at Epcot and you should have just waited?
Seems odd given the expected wait time was only a few minutes longer than walking.
But good to know that HS might have no wait after the initial park opening rush if I go around 10AM.

Hard to say of course - I figured it was probably a push, or somewhere close. Couple of minute Skyliner ride + 15 minute walk, so let’s just say 20 minutes. Vs the 25-30 minutes the manager CM estimated for the Skyliner wait. My guess is the Skyliner line would have moved quicker than her estimate.

But who knows I guess!

As we were walking from DHS to Epcot DS and I just laughed - it was a very 2020 moment.
