I just love the DIS.

I NEED A VACATION FROM REALITY!!! But DH & I agree it will need to be LOW COST since we will be moving. And since he got deployed to New Orleans, there's some extra $.

Lodging was throwing me. I was going to do the Armed Forces Vacation Club (AFVC) again for space available condos at $264/wk...but I wasn't loving the inventory.

Read about SkyAuction here this weekend. Tried my first auction Sunday. Did everthing wrong in terms of bidding strategy.... running the price up over the $264 I could have paid at AFVC. Didn't win anyway.

Today, Monday. Used the "30 second before the auction ends" technique, and I WON!!!!! I won at $11 (so total of $221). I had bid max of $54; which would have been difference of AFVC ($264) & SkyAuctions fees($210). I beat the other bidder by $1. It was a ReadySetGo auction.

I got a 2 bedroom at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas. We always have family join us.....now just need to decide who it will be!!!

So far:
airfare for 2 $270
car rental - 6 days $149
2 bedroom condo $221
TOTAL SO FAR = $640

Just need tickets ($500?) & food & misc parking/tolls/ gas..... Should be under $1500 for 6 days / 5 nights!!

For tickets go to Mousesavers and sign up for her newsletter. The cheapest park tickets I've seen come from a link in the newsletter to Ticketmania.

We're staying at Cypress Pointe in December as well. We stayed there last year and enjoyed it very much.

Isn't Skyauction great? I'd never heard of it until I saw it mentioned on this board and the kind folks here talked me through the bidding process. We are staying in a 2 bed. at CPGV in December too. We'll be there from 11/25 through 12/9/05 and can't wait. Maybe we'll see you there!
