I am tired of waiting and worry too much that we won't get a good place to stay if we wait. Or do we wait and see if more inventory loads up for our Sept/Oct to WDW?

Either way, other than Bonnet Creek, what are you top choices for bidding on skyauction?

Silver Lake
Wyndham Cypress Palm
Summer bay - just be sure you are not close to the sink hole.
Sheraton Vistana Resort
closer (okay Silver Lake is definitely the closest) Orbit One
Festiva
vacation villas at parkway
Westgate Vacation Villas - at this one - well all of these - be aware of the sales pitch - you do NOT have to attend - no matter what is say

$300-350
Cypress Palms
Silver Lake

$500-700
Sheraton Vistana
Sheraton Vistana Villages (nice location for a combined WDW/Universal trip)

(I would choose Wyndham Bonnet Creek over either of the Vistana resorts for a WDW only trip.)

Silver Lake
Cypress Pointe
Sheraton Vistana
Vacation Village at Parkway
Blue Tree
Summer Bay

Thank you, I can get Silver lake and Cypress Palm, that is exactly the info I needed. I don't think they will want me at the sales pitch. Married and not traveling with the husband. I am also very good at NO.

Thank you for the great info. Now the biggie, do we wait. If we wait till the very end could we get a great deal for a Sept/Oct holiday or is better to have a place in hand now?

I booked a one-hour sale in a 2 bedroom at Summer Bay in April for an August stay for $338. I had been watching SkyAuction for the week that I wanted and most auctions and one-hour sales had a $100 surcharge attached to that week. When the one-hour sale didn't include a surcharge, I decided it was time to book. About a week or two later, I might have gotten the same unit for about $20-$30 less. My peace of mind is worth $20-$30 more. I would have been heartbroken if I lost the unit for the week I wanted over $20-$30.

If you're OK with the price of the unit that you see now, book it and stop looking. Or book it, and keep looking for the next trip, knowing that there is a slight learning curve to SkyAuction. Just watch out for date surcharges.

Could you tell me more about the one hour auction? It says it starts every Wednesday but I have yet to find it. I have been trying hard to read the fine print to see what I will be charged. What else should I look at?
I have no problem with$321 USD for 7 nights offsite. I would just want clean and comfy with a good pool for my son.

I'm on their mailing list because of past purchases. Here's a link to the one hour auctions for today. http://mailclick2.skyauction.com/t/efebDeHJuQAB-kGDaPuaJGQ7YJHtaaaaJGQ7BMQTVTaaPuJGQ7?q=5@z4x95~&a=xerWpqmo_2Wlks.Ysi&ia=xerWpqmo_2Wlks.Ysi&p=97m&1=&n=#

You need to read the fine print at the bottom of each listing and also whether there are any surcharges to upgrade the unit, like from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. Also, they charge a one-time $20 processing fee on all auctions. We've had great luck with Skyauction.

silver lake and Cypress Pointe have everything you want - along with (I hate to name it) - Westgate Vacation VIlla - now for pools - Vacation Villa at Parkway have more of them.

remember that timeshares have no housekeeping - you can generally pay extra for it - but for me it is not worth what you will be charged, plus probably silly but don't really like anyone in the room but me.....

We also don't like having housekeeping in our room. We won the auction for Cypress Palms. I unfortunately read the reviews on TA after winning. I know what to expect and am so glad that we have the 2 br/ 2 bath with more room.

I will make sure I tell them if the unit is not clean and will give a firm and polite, NO to the timeshare offers. I hope that being married without my husband will stop them. If not, I can swear in several languages, if it will help.

I do have a bit of regret given the poor reviews, but it is a 2 br/2bath for less than $30 a nite and 20 minutes to the parks. I am going to call it good.

Did you read my review I linked earlier? I really enjoyed Cypress Palms.

Several people on this board have stayed at Cypress Palms and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't sweat the reviews. If your room isn't clean upon check-in, let them know. I've never been at any timeshare that hasn't sent housekeeping and/or maintenance to address issues when I call. As far as the timeshare presentation, I am always polite but very firm in letting them know that I will not sit for a presentation. Never had a problem. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I stay at Cypress Palms fairly often and have found it to be as clean as any of the others.

With SkyAuction you're under zero obligation to sit through a sales presentation. I just say no thank you at check in and unplug the phones once I'm in the unit.

don't worry a friend stayed there a couple of times and loved it. she only had good things to say about it.

you are close by Celebration - so go visit it.

Well, it was too good to be true. I went to reserve it and our date is fine for the check in. I purchased 7 nights, yet when I go to reserve it says we are not in the specific check out time period. So I put in 28 nights, then it said the auction is only for 7 nights. So they are selling something that is impossible to use. I am in tears and don't know what to do. I have called and sent emails. I guess I just lost the $$. Lessons learned.
