SkyAuction... tell me about it, please!

I have read some on the Budget Board lately as we are planning on heading to Orlando over Spring Break. Mainly just shopping, sight seeing, shopping, and maybe Universal (did MK and Epcot this previous spring break... wow! plus, going in the summer).

Nehoo, I am looking for fantastic hotel rates for a somewhat neat hotel (trying to stay budget-wise) and SkyAuction looks great!

Could anyone please tell me how it works, what you do if you win an auction (when it comes to booking the hotel) if it works, feedback from any of your times using it, hidden charges, things to look out for, is it easy/hard... ANYTHING! I am trying to decide whether or not to use it, I hope it is good and trustworthy!

Any help is wonderfully appreciated!

p.s. I am sorry if this subject has been brought up... I looked for a thread about it, but didn't find one!

I look at the Skyauctions from time to time. They are typically off-season weeks. I'd be sort of surprised if you could find a Spring Break unless it was very last minute, since that is the busiest time of year in Orlando. I see lots of good availability for less popular times of year, even summer.

no hidden fees--tax is clearly state (usually $32 per night) and one processing fee per order $15 I think. The only problem we ever had was the site asks for 3 day notice prior to travel date. We attempted to get a room exactly 3 days before and they did not have one. There is a $95 processing fee if you bid and win and never follow up to book it. We have had really good prices. I comparison shop all over the net--priceline, hotwire, vacations to go, travelzoo. But if you can find something that works skyauction is always cheapest and nice places too! Good luck.

There is more information on the Orlando hotels board here on the Dis. I am hopeful to find something the 1st week of June. So I have been reading up on it too.
