Skyauction/Sheraton Vistana Resort

I won an auction on Skyauction for Sheraton Vistana Resort. It was for a 2 bedroom sleeps 8. All good. I just got my RCI certificate and it says "Sheraton Vistana Resort-Fountains Villas" on it. Does that mean that I can only get a room in the Fountains area of the resort?? I hope not, my favorite area is the Spas area and we can check in on a Friday which I know is good for the Spas area. Any help would be appreciated.

It means you are much more likely to be in Fountains, yes, but if I understand correctly it is NOT impossible to get a villa elsewhere in the resort. Again, based on a bit of sleuthing and my understanding, the main reason for the two resort IDs in RCI is historical. Originally, Fountains had a different exchange system with significantly different rules from the other Vistana sections. So a new resort id was created in RCI to deal with these differences. However, times change, Sheraton switched allegiances to II and changed their rules a bit, and the barriers became eroded. Nowadays, it is certainly possible to get Fountains units in the main RCI resort entry, and I have heard that others have received villas outside of Fountains with a Fountains booking.

My best advice would be to make a Diamond Lane request for the section you want, and see what they say. Report back on your results and let us know how you make out.

Very informative, thank you so much for the information. I am certainly going to give it a try by requesting the Spas area through Diamond Lane. I will be sure to post what happens.
