...tell me more...please!:thumbsup2 I see different options.... bid for a certain number of hotel nights, or I see some that are a certain price for 7 nights certificate- anyone have experience buying/using these certificates? Since the dates you can book are limited, what happens if you buy a certificate, but the dates aren't available to book that I wanted? thanks....

I always check to see of the dates and choices are there before I buy one of the generic certificates. Because those are non refundable. It seems to me the specific ones that show availability are refundable if you buy and then the dates are not there. Of course read the small print! :)

We've always gone off season so have booked everywhere from orange lake (way back) to grand villas, to silver lake and many more. Always have been happy.

I researched every old thread I could find on SkyAuction before I used them. I ultimately decided that I was most comfortable using the "Buy Now" option on the specific property I wanted. I made sure the week I chose had no additional fees, taxes or premiums (that will all be at the bottom of the listing).
I ended up going with the Buy Now price on Sheraton Vistana Resort and got 7 nights in a 2 bedroom/2 bath for $620. Our reservation is for the second week of December.
I don't know anything about the certificates. I wasn't comfortable with that method because I knew exactly when and what property I wanted.

I buy the certificates and save them for a time I want to go. I always go during a slower season and sometimes I decide when to go by the timeshares available. Right now I'm in a 2 bedroom at the Wyndham Cypress Palms for two weeks paying $520 total for both. It's one of my favorite places to stay.

I have used sky auction many times. Like others have said, you can check availability before you purchase a certificate. I'd also like to add that I was staying at Summer Bay Resort when the sinkhole happened and contacted sky auction for assistance. Their customer service was excellent and far exceeed any attempt by the resort to help us relocate during the crisis.

We also buy the vouchers on skyauction. You can easily check and book available places and check availablity for months in advance. Sometimes only an upgrade is available for a little more but depending on where and when you travel there is a lot available. They don't have them all the time but they are a great deal at $259 and $20 processing for a week. We are using one right now in Lake of the Ozarks.

We have used SkyAUction condos exclusively for 9 years. That is the only way we can go to Disney as often as we can!

We once even got $149 vouchers. I bought five of them! There was a snafu in the system and they gave me an additional year, so I had a total of 3 years to use them! :thumbsup2

I have never seen them that low again. The lowest is $225 or so, but more typically $249.

I have just booked a week at Summer Bay for December.
