DH and I are going to DL in August - no kiddos. When we go to WDW we always skip toontown (indefinitely now I guess.....lol). I was wondering as first timers to DL - if we skip toontown all together will we be missing anything? Or is it mainly for kiddos?

Thanks!

Roger Rabbit is in toontown and is a pretty fun ride. While thats all I have ever done as far as attractions go in Toon Town, there is still a lot to check out.

The theming there is great and its worth it just to look around and hang out. Maybe spend 20 minutes looking around is what I normally do. The theming is so well done that its just cool to walk around.

I personally thing the RR is awful. But that's my opinion. I don't think you'd be missing anything as adults by not doing toontown. Now if you had young kids my rec would be different.

I am with you, I find RR to be nauseating, it's a motion sickness thing. However, I would make sure I got to ToonTown if nothing else but to see it. Very different from WDW, and lots of fun things to photograph. Walk thru once to check it out.

I suffer from motion sickness also but I was Ok on this - but the ride didn't do anything for me at all - perhaps because I don't know the RR storyline that I really didn't know what was going on. It is cool to walk around and we probably will do just that this time but if we run out of time, I won't stress out that we missed it.

Thanks everyone - I will plan on doing a walk through for a little bit. Not a RR fan, so I am really not too concerned about catching it. But, at least i can walk through say "ooh" and "aah" and move on. :cool1:

You should give RR a spin not because of being a fan of the movie, but because you have the opporunity to ride it. Decide for yourself if it's a good attraction or not. It's unlike anything in WDW.

Plus in TT you can visit Mickey.

I wouldn't skip it. TT is so small that it would silly to skip if you're worried about time! It feels so different there too, I would regret missing that!

When you go, remember to look up at the facades of the buildings. They are amusing and cute, and that is something easy to miss when you DO have a small kid requiring all your attention. Revel in being able to look up and not lose a member of your party! :)

DH and I have no kids and we usually skip TT. However, every third trip or so, I like to go just for the scenery as others have mentioned.

I would ride RR just for the experience, and as you walk thru TT be sure to touch everything. Its all very interactive and actually quite fun. Some of our best pictures are in TT.

Roger Rabbit is technology that has never been duplicated on another attraction! Imagine a teacup going through a Fantasyland Dark Ride, and there you have Roger Rabbit!

I have 2 favorite sandwiches... One is tuna and the other is peanut butter and jelly! I like them both, but that does not mean they belong on the same sandwich together! :crazy2:

Here's a vote for RR, but be sure to experience the entire queue. I also like the "portable hole" effect at the end of the ride. A great ride in my book.

As for the rest of TT, there are some interesting interactive things between RR and the Gag Factory, and some humorous signs here and there, such as the one for the "Planning Commission". The centerpiece of the Gag Factory used to be operational, kind of a Rube Goldberg contraption in which raw materials go in one side of the machine, and "gags" come out the other. Haven't seen it running in quite a while. There's a talking manhole cover in that area.

The rest of TT is really for kids, so you could skip everything west of the Post Office IMO.
