Last evening DW Judy decided to skip Christmas at the Fort and go to the hospital instead. Actually it was not her decision, but was insisted on by WDW officials and ambulance attendants. We were just completing the GC parade and were turning next to the Bike Barn to complete the circuit in the GC parking area. In the turn Judy fell out of the GC hitting her head on the rail fence and falling onto the concrete breaking her left arm. She had been sitting and leaning forward, tossing candy to bystanders, and therefore had little chance to hold on in that final turn. She was taken to a local hospital while I returned to the MH with the kids. She was subsequently transferred to another hospital to utilize the skills of an orthopedic surgeon. She has now told me they will do surgery Sunday to correct the break(s), and with luck she will be allowed to return to the MH on Monday. We have missed her very much today.

Her daughter and two granchildren were already scheduled to join us next week, so now they can be here to give us some assistance.

Judy has sounded in good spirits today, and they are keeping her pain under control. We are thankful for the WDW CM's who came to her aid and particularly want to thank the Hudsons in the cart behind us and St Bernard Angel's family in front of us...I'm sorry, I didn't get your names... for stopping to render assistance until the professionals arrived and later visiting our campsite to see if we needed any further assistance. There are some really great people here at the Fort. Thanks again.

Lest you think we are deterred, we have already set reservations for next Christmas/New Years and plan to again enter the GC and site decoration judgings. These are two of Judy's favorite activities in our annual vacation.

Oh Ken, I'm so sorry to hear that! Please pass our thoughts and prayers along to Judy. I hope her recovery is quick and that she is back with you all at the Fort pronto. Then you can all celebrate a proper Christmas together...just a couple of days late.

So sorry to hear of your wife's accident. It's good to know that her spirits are high and that you are already making plans for next year. Hopefully Mickey and all his friends will autograph her cast! Here's wishing for a speedy recovery!

I am so sorry, I hope she is feeling better and back with you and the children soon.

Oh, no! Sounds as though she is in good spirits, considering, though. Praying for a very speedy recovery!

After reading parts of your post to my husband, he was ready to load us into a vehecle and head to Fort to give you aid with the children until Judy returns. I explained that Judy would hopefully be back Monday and that you had help on the way. I pray those in the campsites near you will help out with whatever you need until help arrives. I am glad you are at the Fort, rather than stuck in a resort.

Praying for all of you!!

I am so sorry your wife had a mishap during your stay. Your family will be in our prayers for a speedy recovery and her quick return to the place she loves so much.

It's ironic that I'm very close to Ken & Judy's home town right now and they're very close to mine. We feel bad that we can't be of any help. For those of you that are familar with their situation, you know that Ken is probably going thru even more challanges than normal, if that's possible. They are amazing people. If you're there at the Fort, please check in on Ken and the kids.

Dang,Ken,,whatta ruff weekend, and during Christmas ! Sounds very painful,,but am glad to hear she's in good spirits. (awe the miracle of Doc's and pain meds :thumbsup2)
Please pass on our prayers to Judy and keep some for you and the children too.

OMG !! I just realized,,how is Judy spose to fish with just one arm !!

So sorry about what happened to Judy, please keep us posted on how she does today. I do hope she gets back there tomorrow.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope her surgery goes well today. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope she'll soon be feeling fine
The way she was before
Because things just won't be the same
Until she's back at the FORT once more.

Thoughts and prayers your way...

Oh gosh - that's a heckuva way to have to spend Christmas!!

Sending wishes that Judy is on the mend quickly and you all get to enjoy your belated Disney Christmas soon. :goodvibes

1) There have been a rash of cart accidents due to unsafe operations.
2) Hope she gets better soon.

I certainly hope that you are not implying that this was an incident of unsafe operations, as I assure you it was nothing more than an accident, and an unfortunate one at that.

I hope the surgery goes well today and other "well wishers" will keep their comments to positive ones on this thread.:headache:

Well said, Jen!

Awww - I'm so sorry to hear this! Tell Judy to feel better soon, and get back to the Fort! I'm sure everyone misses her! :grouphug:

TRS -- I'm sure you didn't mean to make it sound like this was the fault of unsafe operations. You might want to think about editing your post, so it's not taken the wrong way.

I am so sorry. I am here and heard about Judy's accident. We went looking for your site to see if we could help you but didn't see it. If you need any help we are in 205.
