Hi.
I'm checking in to PVs on Thursday.
Have you done below? I have a request in for a high floor since I'm lagoon view.
Do I want to do this? Help?
Thanks so much!

Good news! Now, for the first time, you may be able to skip the front desk when you complete the online check-in service.

Since your all-in-one MagicBand has been shipped to your home and is also your Disney Resort room key, you may head straight to your room or even the Parks (if you linked Theme Park admission to your MagicBands). It's a quick and easy way to start the magic the moment you arrive!

Simply complete your online check-in with:
• Your estimated Resort arrival and departure times
• A credit card you want to use for incidentals and other charges
• Your mobile phone number and/or email address
By providing a phone number or email address we can text or email you on the day of your arrival with your room number. Our Bell Services team will be ready to assist you with your luggage upon arrival.

You'll receive the text number of your room so if you realize that it does not meet your request and you'd like to see if there is something else then you can still stop by the front desk instead of head to the room. If you want a schedule of activities and map of the room then you would need to stop by the front desk anyway.

Thank you so much!
I have no idea if the room number would meet my request so I guess I'll just walk up to the counter when I arrive.
I am taking ME. Do I get off and check in at the regular Poly hotel?
Thanks!

Yes, the check in for PVB is at the front desk in the Great Ceremonial House. Just find out what the room numbering scheme is for the building and you'll know if it's a high floor or not.

We did automatic check-in in May at Kidani. Had requested near Zazu elevator (provides shortest walk to Jambo) and got it. Text message providing room and that it was ready came about 3 just before we arrived at the resort. We parked near and went straight to room. Did not see the Kidani lobby until the fourth day we were there.

Thank you both very much.
In thinking about this more, I will have my luggage with me, since I'm not going to wait for Disney to take it and deliver it so I will just go to
check in with my luggage when I arrive.
Sounds fun but being that I will have my luggage, I guess I'll just go and check in myself.

If you "skip the front desk," you might have access to your room even sooner. We had our room number before we even arrived, and were able to drop our luggage without stopping at the front desk.

Dang!
OK, I will do this then. So conflicted LOL

DO THIS. In our trip in April my Best Friend and I just dropped our bags in our room and within 30min we were in EPCOT. It was amazing. Never want to wait in line for the front desk again!

If you don't care what room you get then do this. The room assigner may or may not match your location request. Early rooms are only available if the prior guest leaves really early and housekeeping cleaned it early or the room sat vacant the night before.

If you enter a room and then ask for a change, you can be billed a full cleaning fee.

:earsboy: Bill

We did this in April and loved it!
Received the text with our room number while we were on ME, on way to resort.
Got off the bus and walked straight to our room - awesome!

I recommend printing off a map of the resort, including room numbers.
Then when you receive the Room-Ready text, you can check the map to see if you like the room location.
If not, then head to front desk, instead of room, to inquire about relocating.

If you have a Lake View booked at PVB, then you will be in the Moorea longhouse.
Here is a map of that longhouse:

Thank you all so much!

I am arriving at MCO approximately 11 am. To those that love it did you arrive much earlier than 4 pm?

Disneyworldbabe, thanks soo much for the map!!

Thank you.

I think you're over complicating this just a teensy bit. ;) Even if you do the online check in you can still decide to go to the front desk. And if you sign up for the online check in you'll know whether your room is ready or not because you'll receive a text or an email notifying you of your room number. That's where it's really nice to just head right to the room and not have to bother with a line at check-in. You now have the room numbers from the map so that will help you decide if you do need to try and make a switch or not when you receive the notification. My recommendation - do the online check in and then just see where it goes if you get a high floor or if the room is even ready by the time you arrive at the resort.

OK! I will take your and all advice and do this in the morning when I get to work. THANK YOU.

Thank you all that took the time to respond. I knew I could count on all of you!

Thanks.

Basically if your room number starts with a 2 or 3 you'll be happy. It's an amazing view, I'm here right now.

We did it last trip, but we didn't have any special room requests so it worked out fine for us.

We got to Kidani around 2:30.

Thank you soo much! I just took a picture of your post with my phone and will have it in case I forgot what I need to look for whwn I get the text.

Thanks.

We got in around 10pm on Friday to PVB but had received a text with our room assignment about 6 hours earlier. Since it was so late I thought about just going straight to the room, but there were no other guests waiting to check in, so we decided to stop at the desk anyway. It was our honeymoon, so they gave us the nicer real flower leis and Happily Ever After buttons. Past that little bit of pixie dust and helpful directions to the room, I don't know that it would have made a difference if we'd stopped at the desk or not. Everything is already in their system if you do online check-in, so they are really just confirming everything you've already told them.
