We've been to MNSSHP a handful of times over the years. At this point, I'm the only one in my family who has the desire to go. We are going in Oct this year, so the tickets will be about 170 each, 510 total. As much as I love the atmosphere, the HM, and the magic shots during the party, its not worth 510 to drag everyone. I'm not quite sure its worth 170 to hit it solo either having been a bunch of less crowded times. Would you skip it? Thinking of doing US HHN for the first time instead but need to research cost and what rides would be open since we are not thrill ride people. Thoughts?

Personally, I would skip it. My family is also less than enthused about the MK parties (we are trying the DHS one this year if we can get tickets). The last time I went to MVMCP with my family, they bailed on me before the fireworks and I stayed to watch the fireworks by myself. They were beautiful, of course, but I felt like the purchase of the tickets was just too costly to bring people along who didn't enjoy themselves and I really didn't like being there solo (some people might like it - it just wasn't for me). I have subsequently attended the MK hard-ticket parties with friends who are completely into it and it's been so much fun! I don't like thrill rides or being scared, so I can't really comment on US HHN. With my own family, instead of the hard-ticket events, I try to find other off-the-beaten path things to do with them that we will all enjoy - Cirque at DS, HDDR, Wild Africa Trek, etc.

I really think this just depends on what you enjoy doing for the party. And, should you decide to go solo, would you have fun? I find it generally speaking "worth it" for us since we mostly do rides and enjoy the lower waits. We don't really care about the shows, photo opps, character meet/greets, etc. It's rides, snack, repeat. I will also add, I'm not a huge halloween person, nor is anyone in my family so for us MNSSHP is one and done. We will repeat the MVMCP but Halloween just isn't our favorite. For me, I'd also pass on spending so much for an event to go solo, I just know I wouldn't have any fun. I've not been to HHN in forever but again, I don't love halloween so most of the houses and scare actors are lost on me. If you really are into halloween, you'll want to go for the houses. As far as what rides are open, I just googled it and it's not very many, granted this list can be wrong, but this is for 2023, this lists which houses they'll have this year too.

I LOVE Halloween, and have become a convert to HHN. I did do 2 MNSSHPs in the past, and really enjoyed them. last year, debated for weeks if we'd book it again, and I ended up waiting too long. Went to order tickets the morning I finally made up my mind to go, and it was sold out. But I think it ended up being a good thing. It would've been over $350.00 for DS and me to go, and he was only interested in rides and candy, none of the other stuff. So I don't think it would've been worth it, but I did so much enjoy the parties we went to. I love the theming, etc. (DH has never gone, he is also not interested.)

Now, the last 2 years, we've done HHN, and I LOVE it. ALready planning to work that into our Oct Disney trip. We also have Univeral APs. THe list above I think are all the rides that are open during the event. We don't usually devote much time for the rides, but we have done Mummy, MiB, and RRR , and a LOT of people really enjoy Diagon Alley during HHN. IT's much less crowded, and I think everything is open, at least for a while, maybe not until 2AM, but for a lot of it. I did end up doing the last couple hours solo at HHN, and had fun. The kids were tired! and went back to the hotel before I did. wimps.

Good luck with the planning. the Universal section of the forum has GREAT info on HHN!!
