Skecher Shape ups?

Anxiously awaiting the answer...

I've been debating wearing mine. I like them for walking but I don't like them very much for standing...and even though there's a lot of walking in Disney, there's a lot of standing, too!

Like any unfamiliar footwear, it's not best to try it for the first time at WDW. I work in a hospital and the wearers say it takes getting used to. Some are big fans; some are so-so on them. My foot doctor advised me to stay away from them, so they must not be for everyone.

I received a pair several months ago to "test drive." They're about 1/2 size too big, so I don't know if that changes anything, but I've been using them just on the treadmill. I walk about 30-45 minutes, and the first couple days I didn't feel anything except my knee bugging me (but it's quirky anyway). They did take some getting used to.

I guess walking on the treadmill is a different experience than walking around the parks (not just because it's WAY less fun, lol!), but they're comfortable enough that I'd consider it. Don't know how much toning they really do, but once you get used to the weird way they feel when you walk, they're not terribly uncomfortable.

My cousin is a hair dresser and has wore hers for two days now I think. Tonight she said her calves were screaming at her and she had to finally change. I would think you would want to wear them quite a bit before using them at disney.

I have a pair and I love them. It does take a few days to get used to wearing them. But I wear them to the parks and have no problem. Calves get a little sore, but not excrutiating in the least.

If you like them already, I guess it should be fine, but like others have said I wouldnt recommend trying them out for the first time there! I ordered mine and didn't like them at all, so to each her/his own. My legs got pretty sore from REGULAR shoes and I am in fairly good shape, so it will definitley give you a work out!

Some people have..Use caution though..I can't even wear mine anymore and gave them away..Turns out that the terrible foot pain I developed from wearing them was plantar Fasciitis..and YES it came specifically from wearing these shoes. The orthopedist and the podiatrist I saw both say that some people develop it from these shoes, and some people find relief from foot pain while wearing them..So now I have to wear orthotics all the time and pop motrin every 6 hrs.In addition to special exercises and icing my foot..If it doesn't heal, I will need cortisone shots into the foot or surgery..It stinks

I forgot to add that I survived all 6 days at Disney wearing ONLY my Shape-Ups. This was the ONLY trip to Disney where I didn't end up with blisters or severe feet pain. It felt like I was seriously GLIDING through the parks. I also wore THORLO socks which I believe added to the comfort.

Thanks to the Diser that recommended THORLO socks.....they are great moisture-wicking thick socks.
