It's almost departure day... not quite, but close!

I have our day in Skagway pretty much packed... glacier/dogsledding excursion (as long as the weather cooperates) and then the train/goldpanning excursion.

Is there a place to grab a very quick bite or take-out in Skagway... we will have about 30-45 minutes between our two activities? Any tips would be greatly appreciated by me and my hungry family.

TIA!

We just nipped back on ship for thirty mins it was very easy everything is very close.

Not sure 30 min would be enough time but there is a skagway brewing company that had pretty good food. You can also trip the spruce tip beer that you will hear about in all of skagway. (I suggest just getting that beer and not the full flight. All of the other beers are ok but nothing special or memorable. The spruce tip however is unique.)

I hadn't even considered that as a possibility. :) Thanks!
This depends on where exactly the ship ends up docked. skagway has room for 4 cruise ships to dock. We were at one of the closer docks when I went (with princess not disney) but some of the other docks are a bit further away and would make having only 30 min pretty tight.

From the furthest point in the town you can see the ship.

You can see the pier and coach pick up.

The wonder docks in the same place each time.

Ah ok. I know there were 4 ships in port when we were there and two of them were princess. They mentioned this because apparently some people try to get on the wrong princess ship...

Yes Princess dock the far right as you look at the town they prefer it for the normal access to the white pass rail , wonder always docks in the same place the pier does have a white pass line as well but not the main normal tourist one.

We booked a flight first to Glacier bay the airport is next door you can miss it. We were so early we walked the town. Did the flight, walked the town, went on ship had a snack went off, picked up for a coach and rail tour. It was so easy getting on and off and it doesn't cost you anything more.

Has anyone visited the grocery store in Skagway? We're renting a car for the day and would like to pick up some sandwiches to take on our day trip.

This sounds similar to what we have planned... I really like the idea of going back to the ship. The only other cruise we went on was to Mexico and it was such a hassle to board the ship.

As others have noted, it is very easy to go back on board to eat lunch, then return to the town. We did the White pass railroad in the morning and our guide mentioned the food in town tends to be greasy and you might want to go back to the ship to eat. That was a few years ago, so things may have changed. Have a great time!

We really liked the Skagway Brewing Co! I hope the weather is good for your dogsledding, it is a fantastic excursion! We went last year and there were 242 on top of the glacier!

We ate at the klondike cafe for a quick bite after our excursion. It was ok. It wasn't as quick as I'd have hoped. You might have just as much luck going back to the ship and eating, as others have suggested.

We visited the grocery store but only because we needed some allergy medicine. We didn't really look around much. It was smaller than a grocery store at home, but seemed to have a little of everything. The prices are kind of high. I don't know if they sell prepared foods but you could definitely get sandwich fixings.

Ate at the Skagway Brewing Co as well, mainly because I wanted to try one of their brews. It became really busy but the service was pretty fast and the food was tasty.
