Due to the great deals (I think?) on the Sizzix Sidekick ($27.49) today on the Sizzix web site, I will be buying one!!! :cheer2: I see that they also have a lot of the Little Sizzle Paper Pads on sale. Will these work for the Sidekick or just the original Sizzix machine? Also, besides the machine, paper and dies is there anything else I need to use this? Thanks!

that is pretty much all you need...unless you are planning on using thier new border dies, then you will need the border plates.

also, since you can use qk dies in it, and if you plan on using it, you will need the adapters.

Thanks! Are those the right paper pads to buy? Also, are there any must-haves for my first dies for the Sidekick? Thanks!

i dont' think you have to use those pads. i don't even have any of them. you can just use any paper. in fact, if i am not mistaken, you'd still have to cut those down to get them into the sidekick anyway...unless they have made something that i haven't seen.

as far as all the dies go...it really depends on 1. how much you want to spend and 2. what you think you will get the most use out of.

i only have 2 sizzlet alphabet sets so far, but no shape dies. i do however have a bunch of the qk ones.

just depends on you and what you like most.

I have the tag set and it's cute. I also have the adapter for my Quickutz dies... which BTW came in a package of 10 that I'll never work my way through so if anyone needs one, I'll be happy to RAK one your way.

You can use any paper-
I bought those pads on clearance years ago for use with the regular sizzix -
and to be honest with you I NEVER use them - the patterns don't usually coordinate with whatever I am working on :(
But my DD loves to have it to 'play' with - we have been altering all her notbooks, and bookcovers since before altering was the kewl thing to do :rotfl:

Do you guys find it to be pretty exspensive to get the Die templates? i been thinking about getting a cutter but then when i saw that it was $20 for each set of templates it scared me away lol. Any suggestion on how to get the most for your buck when investing in one of these?

That is why we are always enabling each other with the announcements on sales (BTW-did everyone see Hobby Lobby's ad this week!), coupons, etc. Rarely do we buy full price!

Thanks everyone! I ended up getting the Sizzix Sidekick ($27.49), the Sizzlits Tag Set ($10.99), Metallic Papers ($2.74), Rainbow Papers ($2.19) and a free embossing folder. Not bad for $49.36 shipped :) I figure I can always use the papers somehow, and DBF was buying. ;) They had some Sizzlits sets on sale for $10.99 on the website yesterday and select alphabet ones for around $82.99.

the good thing is, they run sales on the sizzix site...and if you are close to a m's, they take coupons. i wouldn't buy an alpha set without!!! it comes to around $90 with the coupon...beats $150...that is $60 to spend on more supplies!!!
