sizing for 4 year old boys? help please?

I'm trying to order something for my boys at disneyshopping and am not sure of what size to get. They are 4 years old and big boys...45" and 45 pounds..I got their halloween costumes off of there and they were a small..but it fit them perfectly...for a top should I get a medium..or will they be drowning?? thanks!!!

According to the Disney shopping size guide a medium should work well unless you can order by number size, in which case a 6 would be best. A small that is a 5 would be too little

5 S 42-45" 37-43 lbs 4-5 yrs
6 S 45-48" 43-50 lbs 5-6 yrs
7 M 48-51" 50-57 lbs 6-7 yrs
8 M 51-54" 57-67 lbs 7-8 yrs

I always buy DS's close too big, but that's not everyon'es choice I know

My son is 7 years old (small for his age but size comparable to your kids) and is 48 inches tall and weighs 45 pounds. In pajamas I am still buying him a 6 which fit perfectly - and I mean there is no room to grow but they will fit him all winter. I did buy him some size 7 sweatshirts - he hasn't tried them on as they will be Tinkerbell gifts for our trip but I did hold them up to a size 5-6 sweatshirt that he wore from last year and they aren't that much bigger. I think they will be fine on him - possibly big enough to wear for two winters. HTH

Just as a word of warning...I've found Disney Shopping sizes to be really on the large size. I've ordered some size small tshirts for DD (age 4, 42 inches, 42 pounds) and they probably won't fit her until she 10!!!! The ones that are specifically from the Disney Store seem to adhere to what the sizing information suggests. However, the actual Disney Shopping items can run huge.
