Could someone please tell me which rides and attractions accommodate larger size guest. (250-350lbs.) :yay:

My DH is built like a college linebacker and is able to do all the rides at WDW and DLR. We can't say the same of Universal Studios or Knotts Berry Farm.

I have heard astro orbiter is pretty small - so I would skip that one.

Some of the roller coasters can be smaller, so you will just have to see on those. Some of them have test cars where you can make sure you fit.

I think you will be surprised at how much you CAN ride at Disney.

This probably depends a lot on how tall the person is, etc, etc.

www.allears.net has a section WDW at Large and it has great, specific information that may help ya!

:welcome: to the DIS! (Unless you have always been a member but wanted to post this anonymously.) ;)

Last year, I weighed 334 lbs. at 5'6" tall. I was able to ride almost everything.

The only things I've never been on are those little cars you drive on the track (I can never remember the name of this ride!), Space Mountain, and Astro Orbitor. Oh, and the Stitch thing--but that's because I don't like Stitch and have no interest in going. I rode everything else. I only skipped these rides because I was worried about the height more than the width as I have a bad knee. I wasn't sure I could get back up out of the ride once I got in!

Most of my weight was in the bottom half of my body, so a lot of things were a bit tight. But, they were doable. Teacups and the Muppet show at DHS was about the most uncomfortable. I never had a problem with seatbelts on any of the rides. Just remember to pull the seatbelt out before sitting down.

Disney is very size friendly, which was something for which I was very appreciative.

I've been to WDW at various sizes and never had a problem. Last trip I was 325 pounds @ 5'4" with most of my weight in the stomach area. I had no problems fitting in any of the rides except Tea Cups. I could fit in but it was really uncomfortable. Space Mountain was hard to get out of but I saw plenty of smaller riders having the same problem. In the shows I sat on the edge of the seat and slid back and that worked great. Ditto on pulling the seatbelt out all the way before you sit down, especially at Test Track. The restaurants are great about discretely providing an armless chair, just ask the hostess before you are seated. I haven't been since they put safety bars in Spash Mountain so I don't know about that one. I stood on tippy toes for turnstiles at the entrance with no problems. Have fun and don't worry. Disney is very size friendly! (Oh, if you're interested, I had better luck finding plus size Disney shirts at the Disney outlets and Downtown Disney than I did at the parks)

I am 5'10 and 285lbs. I ride everything. The only ride I felt uncomfortable was the Rock N Roller coaster. That was sung and Space Mountain was a little tight too but RNR was hard to get up out of.

Enjoy your trip and have fun!

I agree, both hubby and I are very plus sized and it's the one place where we can ride almost everything. Depending on how tall you are you may have to adjust where in the ride you sit. My hubby is 6'4" and the only thing we have to do is sit in the front of some cars (not the first row, just the front seat of any car) for example Rockin Roller coaster and Space Mountain. Cuz there is no seat in front of you there is more leg room and so he is able to ride those with little to no discomfort.
Our "trick" for Thunder Mountain is to say we're single riders. While we both fit in a row together ok, but we found that sitting in row to ourselves was more enjoyable. (Personally, I slide side-to-side a bit going around the turns and I find more enjoyment in feeling the ride more that way. :) ) We never thought about it until a CM asked us if we wanted to split up, so we tried it and that's how we ride now.
I will caveat we have not done Mission Space in years so I can't remember how the seats were there. The Sum of All Thrills ride in Innovations Epcot is probably the only ride I would doubt. Even if hubby wasn't so Pooh sized he was probably too tall to fit (the CM looked at him and said, 'i don't think it'll work' and sure enough she was right :)) and even though I'm average (5'6" ish) my thighs were too big for the shoulder harness to lock all the way. So that's the one ride we wanted to do but couldn't. Other than that, I recall pretty much everything was accommodating, unlike Universal. Universal we had lots of trouble with the rides, even with the bigger seats.
I second allears.net they have a good page outlining the different rides with user experiences.

The only thing that wouldn't work (based on my experience) would be Sum of All Thrills in Epcot and the Rollercoaster creator thing in Disneyquest- they have very narrow seats and over-the-shoulder harnesses that will NOT lock down. Everything else I've been on works just fine (5'9", been between 250-315 lbs). Some of the rides, like Expedition Everest, even have test seats that you can try out if you're worried about the fit.

The only table service place I've been at that's been a tight fit was the Sci-Fi Cafe, and that was at the cars- very tight squeeze for me and not something I would do again. Then again, I didn't really appreciate the food, either! :rotfl: If I would eat there again, I'd ask to be at the picnic tables in the back.

That said, I haven't been since they've installed the locking mechanisms on Splash Mountain or the Haunted Mansion, but I can't imagine that they would cause issues with everything else Disney doesn't being "Pooh bear" friendly.

Definitely check out allearsnet.com and their site, and there's a thread wandering around here about being Pooh sized at at Disney as well- I think it's in the Disney World Tips board...

Good point, we actually tried the CyberSpace Mountain in DisneyQuest and we didn't see any test seats so we designed our ride and then when we tried to ride it is when we got disappointed. But Sum of all Thrills in Epcot does have test seats out front so you can check beforehand - so we were disappointed BEFORE we designed :) They seemed the same to me so so I lumped it together - but I should have separated it so someone doesn't try the DQ one and get disappointed.
