Size of meals at a la carte TS restaurants?

The only TS restaurants we have been to at Disney were all-you-can-eat places, so I am curious about the regular a la carte ones. On our next trip we will be staying 10 nights so a few dinners being served to us without being family style would be nice and we will definitely be doing this. A few that come to mind are Les Chefs de France (Epcot), Mama Melrose (DHS, for Fantasmic package), Le Cellier (Epcot), Spoodles (Boardwalk), and Captain's Grille (Yacht Club). If we were to go with the Deluxe dining plan, signature places we would be interested in would be Narcoossee's (GF), Flying Fish (BW) and Yachtsman's Steakhouse (YC).

So, what are the portions like at the above restaurants? If we went with the deluxe plan it would inlude appetizer, entree and dessert. How big are appetizers generally? I would assume that soup or salad would be standard small size. But what about things like dips, wings, crabcakes, etc.? Enough for 2 people to order 2 different ones and sample each a little? How about entrees? Are they very big? And what about desserts? Again, enough for 2 people to order 2 different things, and sample a little of each? I know the children's menu will be enough for our kids, even judging on the amount of food they give little ones at CS places. And they will only be 3 and 5 when we go.

So, how are the dinners at TS places that are not all-you-can-eat? Any in particular you would recommend (on or not on my lists above)? Curious!

For the most part Disney TS portions tend to be large.

Of the restaurants you listed, we recently ate at Spoodles and Flying Fish.

Salads are not small. Appetizers are very generous and can easily be shared.

The only main course that could even be called average would have been the potatoe wrapped snapper at Flying Fish. Everything else was a very generous portion -- especially at Spoodles.

How is the food at Spoodles? We will be staying at BWV from now on so I would like to know as I have a feeling we will be frequenting that one! Probably even for breakfast at least once!

I think the portions at those places are huge...I have tons of pics of a few of those places in my March/April link

Breakfast was pretty much standard fare. Good sized portions and good service.

Spoodles appetizers and salads are wonderful. Their food in general is very tasty -- a good mix of mediterranean cuisines, great herbs and spices, but not overly spiced or spicey.

If you are staying at BWV you have many other options just a short walk or boatride away -- at the YC/BC and at the S/D.
