Sort of a sensitive subject but I know you experts can help - are there alot of rides and attractions that larger people can't fit into because of the restraints? My husband and I are both big folks, but can fit into the rides at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg (ie. Apollo's Chariot and Alpengeist) - though its a fairly tight fit  Does anyone have experience with not being able to fit into Universal rides? I'd rather be prepared before we get there!
Thanks!

The most confining restraints are on Hulk and Dueling Dragons. They have test seats out front of the ride. They both also have a couple rows for "larger" people that help with the restraint issue. I am large and never had a problem. Check with the ride attendent.

My DH & myself are on the large side & never had a problem at Universal this past Dec. My DH rode Dueling Dragons, Hulk & the Mummy without any problems. I think between both of us we rode every single ride at both parks & didn't feel like we couln't fit. :cool1:

If you can fit in Alpengeist and Apollos Chariot, you should be fne with Dragons and Hulk.

Hey...

Also, many people don't know - but there are seats in the Shrek theatre which can accomodate larger sized guests. In the wheelchair lane in the middle row (either theatre) the arms lift up on some seats. Mostly the end seats in side #1, more seats do this in side #2.

You'll be fine. As other have said, if you can ride Alpengeist you can ride Hulk and DD with no troubles. All three rides are made by the same coaster company and have very similar restraints. Although I thought Hulk was a little smaller than DD.

Welcome aboard. Going on a trip gives me a reason to lose weight.
I work out, and cut back a month before going. If anything, go on some walks around the neighborhood. You'll get used to standing on your feet a long time.

BTW, the seats for those with larger upper body dimensions are in row 3 and row 6 on both Hulk and Dueling Dragons. There is one of these seats in each of those rows. At certain times of the day, there may not be an employee loading you into specific rows and unlike Busch Parks (Sea World, BGT) there is no sign indicating which rows have the larger seat.

Yeah Hulk typically has smaller seats than the others. But if those give you trouble the larger seats work just fine. Apollo's Chariot confused me. There was a guy whoe seemed a bit smaller than me and he couldn't ride because the restraints wouldn't lock, which was weird because they locked for me.

all are right about the hulk having larger seats.

2 times last october the ride attendant had me move to another row as a person larger than me needed the seat i was in.

i am not a big person just average and just went in the row that was closest to me when i was in line.

the employee told me there are some seats that will accomodate people of a larger size.

thats a good thing that universal doesn't believe in the one size fits all theory.
everybody loves the hulk
