Has anyone rented with Sixt in the past? Their rates for the end of March are 45% less than Budget but I'd appreciate some feedback on their inventory and their car rental practices before taking the plunge. TIA

They have only recently come to the US. I've used them in Europe but I'm sure they are using different rules here, so that won't help you.

I just checked prices for this place. I got a chevy cruz from 3/23-4/2 for $191.39.:banana: I have a dodge avenger from budget for the same time frame for $416.85.:scared1: It'a a no brainer. If this place is legit they are getting my business. Does anybody know????????????

They are very much legit and have been in business in Europe for decades, but I can't speak for what their rules might be at MCO. Renting in Europe is very different than it is in the US; the charges are assessed differently.

Previously, you could rent via National's US site and get cars from Sixt in Europe; they were int'l partners. They may still be in areas of the US outside Florida, but I'm not sure.

I made my ressie on their website because there is an additional 20% off coupon. For part of Easter, their base rate for a full size is $103.75. For 3/27 - 4/7 total is $217.00 including taxes and fees. For 1/2 the price I'll go to an offsite shuttle lot as well. They do not require a credit card to book - just like a typical U.S. rental company. The confirmation said bring photo I.D., license, and method of payment(CC). I'll bring proof of insurance, jic. You can tell they are a European co. because their invoice has commas where the decimals are and decimals where the commas are in a U.S. style invoice - - their IT department needs to build a new U.S. form before they scare people. Not surprisingly, they have a "BMW" car selection option - how very German. Hope they don't mind taking my U.S. dollars. :)

Not sure if the low rates are to try and make a splash in a new market or a pricing mistake.

I'm keeping by Budget reservation as a back up until we hear some stateside feedback. If it's a smaller company, they may not have a large inventory and could run out of cars during a busy travel time - like Easter when I'm going. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll run out of full size cars and upgrade me to one of those BMW's......:rotfl2:

Looks like they got some good rates. I was just checking a Chev Cruz from Mar 10 - 17th. Total inc taxes $140.73. The only downside is their rates do not include additional driver. That is $10.64/day extra so if you want your spouse to drive as well total is $215.20. If the additional driver is not important to you then rates look very good.

I hope someone posts back about this company. I love a deal. :rolleyes1

I just booked a full size with Sixt for 2/8-2/12 $133.46 could have had it for $103 but had to put cc info in for that price. Not sure I wanted to do that yet. i'd rather hear from people who've recently used them at MCO.

Full size on expedia.ca with Dollar is $110.78CAN inc taxes.

I'd love to try Sixt, but for April and May their website states "nothing available". I'll check again later because the rates at other rental companies are outrageous.

I've rented from them many times in Europe and in the Caribbean. They're a legitimate operation.

Looks like they are on travelocity as well. I see some really good rates on travelocity.ca for us Canadians. Just checked a compact for 1 week from March 10 - 17th and total is $69.17CAN inc taxes. On Sixth website total is $136.12US for same dates.

Do I need a canadian drivers lisence to get this rate. If not then I just got my already great rate thru sixt of $210 down to $111 CAD which converts to $108. Is this too good to be true???????

I have a reservation with Sixt for March 28-April 4 for an intermediate car (Chevy Cruze or similar) for $138. I also have one with Budget for a compact car, same dates, for $279. Sixt is offsite with a shuttle while Budget is right at MCO. Like you all, I'm waiting to hear about reviews to see how it all goes....

I just reserved a full size car (Ford Taurus, Dodge Charger) for March 3-11 (1 week + 1 day) for $151.45! Looks to be fairly easy - the shuttle info was pretty clear, and only 5 min from the airport. Fingers crossed that all goes well.

Just returned a car there the other day. Service was great, cars are brand new and in excellent condition. The rates there are unbelievably low and I cannot see myself giving another rental company at MCO my business again

Just curious how your experience with the shuttle was. Did it seem to take alot longer than renting from a company onsite? I realize it will take a little longer just because of the shuttle commute but was the service at the counter relatively quick? Do you pick a car from a row or do they hand you keys?
