I can't find an article but the TV news was reporting about the Six Flags Maryland roller coaster that got stuck for almost two hours this afternoon. They were at the top of where they shoot to the loop and were just hanging there. Luckily, they weren't upside-down but they did have their feet hanging free. I don't think anyone was hurt.

This is my big fear....something going wrong with a wild ride. I guess I should see that they were okay but I would not have been a happy camper.

I've never seen of a roller coaster get stuck in mid-loop. Usually what will happen is that a coaster will stop right before it goes over the lift hill. The coaster's computers can detect something wrong and stop the ride before it goes over the lift. Once a coaster goes over the lift, it's all God and gravity. It doesn't stop until it hits the first brake run or the end brakes.
