Six Flags Coaster Trouble!!!

Breaking news...a roller coaster at Six Flags in Largo, Md. called Two Face is stuck with about 25 people on board. Rescue is on the scene. They are not upside down and no one is reporting any severe stress or anything. Makes me glad I don't do thrill rides! Hope everyone makes it down okay...Lacee

Our local news reported that they had been up there for almost an hour. The DH and DD wonder why I flatly refuse to ride these types of roller coasters.

They are now unloading all of the riders off the ride. They are having to manually move the cars and unload one by one.

Just watched them lower the coaster slowly back to the station.
The people are getting off safe, according to the reporter, there was about 25 people stuck on the ride for almost 2 hours.

Looks like it got stuck at the top of the lift hill. YIKES!

Not a big deal, happens quite frequently. They were only stuck on the lift hill, not on the ride itself.

When Superman Ultimate Flight gets stuck on the lifthill, thats something more to worry about. Since you are face down in a flying position with nothing under you through the entire lifthill, they have a moving platform that comes to get you. Now, that would be scary.

Here's a pic of the ride...they were stuck at that peak towards the back of the picture...78 feet up in the air. There were 28 people on the ride. They had called the Fire Dept. out to rescue them, but they were able to get control of the ride to bring it down safely.

It's a Vekoma Boomerang, and for the record, it happens quite frequently. I've seen it happen at Morey's Pier on the Jersey Shore. They just evacuate, usually no big deal, a few maintnence checks and their back in business. I sure wouldn't wanna walk down any lift hill steps though

Seems to me that Six Flags has alot more trouble or break downs with thier rides than any of the other parks around. Maybe it's because there are so many more of them around. having second thoughts about a visit to Six Flags.

Happens all the time????? I've never heard that on the news around HERE. I was stuck at the BOTTOM of the Hulk the other week for about TEN minutes, and I started getting light-headed just being out in the sun with all those restraints around me. I think I would have had some serious issues dangling for 2 hours.

Six Flags has tons of parks and slews of coasters. It doesn't surprise me at all when I hear about stuck coasters. I'm glad that I've only been stuck on nice, sedate rides like Spaceship Earth though.
