Sitting on the Pin-less Pity Pot

Teacher 21: Don't give up, there is hope! I got one tonight. 7 long years I have tried and waited. I've done all the tricks, I've crossed my fingers, I call CRO randomly and price trips, I go online weekly, and never have gotten a pin. My sister got on in 04 after she went w/ me on a trip, my dad got one and has never bin and to beat it all my Ex got one sent to MY email well after we split up. But tonight is my night, I finally got one.

I've priced trips online and have them saved. Today i went on thier site to price (ironically) for a friends June trip and I got a CM help box. I chatted w/ them asked totally naive questions that I totally knew the answers to (is there a June discount available, when can I add dining plan, etc) and got a survey at the end. I filled it out and tonight POOF an email comes into my box. I know how frustrating it is to come on here day after day and see others getting the pin, but finally I got it too!! I'll send you some extra good pixie dust for a fellow Tennesee'er!

ETA: I know this pin is from something I recently did too b/c it came in my new married name (since Feb), alot of the emails I still get from them are in my maiden name (even though we have been since we were married).

Ok, I haven't read the whole thread, so I'm not sure what you have tried, but I've gotten 8 pins in the last month (please don't kill me! I'm sorry!) and here's what I did...

I did NOT do the exit survey, so I don't think it matters. I did save trips for the time I wanted, I used 3 different emails. I did not clear my cookies. What I did notice though is that I always get a pin when I have NOT gone to the site and logged in for a few days to a week or so. Maybe you are logging in too often? Maybe when you haven't logged in, it sends you a pin to try and get you to come back?

I just wanted to add I think this has something to do with it, too. Until today I hadn't been on thier site for about a week and a half, which is probably a record for me. I had given up but a friend asked and I pulled it up for her. So maybe try staying off thier site will generate the pin to get u to come back and look some more.

We've been going 2-3 times a year since '99 and we have never ever ever received a PIN code. Ever! Did I mention that we have never gotten a PIN code? Only once did we have a 'Bounceback' offer in our room. Oh wait... have I mentioned that I've never gotten a PIN?

LOL I know how you feel, we have had to even ask about bounceback everytime b/c we didn't have the flyer. The first year I missed it b/c I wasn't spending enough time here before I left, man I was hot when I got back and saw we missed the boat. I still keep looking at my email to make sure one is really in there and I'm not seeing things. I have long given up hope for a pin and then they shocked me into beleiving in the disney pin fairy magic again tonight.

Although you seem like such a sweetie Pirategirl, I'm afraid you might be banned from this Pity Party since you got one!! I am so happy for you, honest. I shouldn't complain at all. I got a rate of 149 at the Dolphin due to being a teacher. I was just looking for something around 129. I'm trying not to be jealous, but it's just not working that well for me. If I didn't have the teacher discount I would be upset that so many people were getting discounts and the best I could do would be the meager AAA rate. Ok. Rant over.

For all of those who have received a code, I am so happy for you. Now let the rest of us feel some love!

We always answer and and all surveys in the parks, on the phones, in the resorts, etc. I have saved trips on the WDW site, I price out trips, etc. and nada, nothing, ever. Come on Disney throw me a bone!! I'll share it with Pluto!

We have gone to WDW 40 times (we're up to 3 times a year now), have all stayed onsite, done surveys, etc and still have never gotten one stinkin' pin code!

Even when we were there in Sept and staying at Value. They gave out a random pin to move people in Value over to SSR or OKW. 3 of our friends got the pin codes-we did not! GRRR.....

Oh well, I still check my email often to see if the Magical pincode fairy will grace us with a pin code!!

Can I join? Is the potty big enough?

I have been trying everything for at least 3 months.
Logging in daily thinking maybe today this will win be the Lottery Pin Code,
but still nothing. I even chatted with a CM online and she said that
maybe I didn't qualify for a Pin, that made me sad at first then Mad.

I don't know what you have to do to qualify, I had to cancel this years
trip because of the economy. I don't think it's fair.
Plus, I've taken that exit survey several times and have said I'm looking
into staying at Universal if I can't get a discount--no amount of
bluffing will get me a pin code.

I finally went to my saved offers and tryed to book a Standard room at AKL saved offer and there were no more available for Next Oct. 2010--this
got me a little worried so I caved and booked a Pool View--and still hoping
there will be some sort of discount that I can apply in the future.
This is so frustrating.

Teacher furloughs in Georgia are threatening to take away all of our fun money. Without a code, we will only be able to go 5 days by renting someone's points rather than 7.

i think the reason i don't get one is, cause i think overheard me one day say how hot i thought was and he got jelous and went and told someone to take me off the pin code list.

I think I've made a huge mistake. I booked my dining reservations this past week. I started thinking about it and wondered if since they see I'm booking reservations for dining I must be booked somewhere. I wonder if this will throw me out of contention for one of those pins. Then again, I think I may be giving them far more credit than I should.

Been doing this part-time job of logging on/saving rates/ changing dates, everything for over a week. I'm giving it two more weeks and then being content with my rate at the Dolphin.

I'm tired of this party.

You really made your ADRs and then got the pin code?!! That is certainly encouraging. I'm hoping it comes through soon because I am not patient when it comes to waiting like this!

I too have been feeling sorry for myself about not getting the pin code , especially since I have spent so much time on the WDW site pricing trips, etc. I even called and asked if I had a pin code (I did, but not one that works for our August, 2010 plans).

HOWEVER, once I started looking at the offsite options (we have never stayed offsite before), I am realizing I can save HUGE amounts of money AND get a far nicer room (a suite would be nice since our kids are getting older). I won't be sleeping in WDW, but the (easily) $1,500 to $3,000 extra dollars in my pocket will more than make up for it.

Well, I have been sitting on this pot for a long time, and I hate to tell you guys that I am leaving you to join the "Yes, Virginia, there really is a Santa" thread.

I GOT A CODE, I GOT A CODE, I GOT A CODE!!!!!

We got a pin code (30/35/40) in our email yesterday and we have already upgraded from the POFQ to the (I can't believe I am saying this).... GRAND FLORIDIAN. I have never stayed at a deluxe and never dreamed I would be able to. This trip is a graduation present to my high school senior daughter and I am so excited to be able to take her to the GF. With the 40% off, our package was $2200 less than rack rate. There really is a Santa.

What I did: I took all the suggestions on this board. I logged in every day and saved some vacations and deleted others. I never answered the exit survey, because I never got the survey. I did talk to CM's via live chat. I was doing this everyday. About a week ago, I simply ran out of time with all the Christmas rush. After a week of not returning to the Disney web site, I received the pin code. I don't know if there is any significance to that; just telling you what happened to me.

I am going to miss sitting with you guys on this pot, but I am throwing as much pixie dust your way as possible, hoping you can join me on the Santa thread. Merry Christmas!

I guess WDW knows that we are coming back regardless because in over ten years of going 2-3 times a year I have never gotten a PIN and only once got a Bounceback offer. I must learn how to get rid of my anti-PIN vibe that I'm sending out to WDW!!! A PIN would keep us on property when we add days to our DVC trips instead of me searching for reasonable places off property.
