Sitting here waiting for news on the storm

The rain has pretty stopped...for the moment anyway...but the winds are still with us. Hopefully we have seen the last of Fay...once and for all!

Well, I made it here to Orlando! We arrived yesterday afternoon and right now I am sitting in the Club Lounge of the Portofino Bay Hotel.

Is it ever going to stop raining? Oy! It's going to be a long day (if not a long five days).

When I left Michigan yesterday afternoon, it was 79 and sunny. :confused3

The weekend is looking better but we still have a high rain chance until Monday. Then...it returns to normal with highs in the lower 90s and afternoon thunderstorms.

We are going home on Tuesday. I don't have high hopes for this trip. My son and his friend are with me. I think they will go to the parks in the rain, but I'm not sure I'm going to do that.

Oh well, that's life.

Is she gone? Fay I mean. We are set to arrive on Tuesday. I've been lurking and reading, and praying....so....is the coast clear? :scared: (pun intended).

Get some poncho's and make the most of the rain :goodvibes

Too bad Enchanted Oak is closed or I'd recommend getting plastered there :rotfl:

I think...for the most part...yes! Finally...I'm still getting some wind but the rain has stopped and the roads are actually dry now!

We went to Universal Studios today. It was raining cats and dogs, but we put our ponchos on and off we went. It has rained (poured) on and off all day, but we had fun in spite of the weather.

We are hoping tomorrow will be a little better, but, if not, we'll make the best of it.

I actually saw the sun a couple of times today! :worship:

All together now: "Fay, Fay go away. Be gone from Orlando so we can play!"

Here's the current forecast for this weekend and the beginning of next week:

We got some really heavy down pours today. We have flooding where we did not have any! They are calling for a voluntary evac in some areas :scared1: I know several of the main roads near me are prone to flooding and the City issued a alert to try and avoid them, especially for tonight. We are still having storms! Fay Fay... it is now time to go away! I have had it with this weather. I know we get rains everyday here in sunny FL, but these rains are a bit toooooo much for me :headache: It is a pain to clean off dogs each time they have to go out...
The terrible road conditions are prime for accidents, I saw on the way home from work today due to the wet roads. The flooding of streets, you never know which street will be flooded &/or closed. I work at a school and dismissal is horrible (and this was our first week back on top of everything). This weather has got to go! All of this is after the fact.. the day Fay was here was the best of all the days.. go figure...
I spoke to my sister in Flagler County (Palm Coast), she said they had heavy rains today.. it was he worst so far. The schools were closed today & it was the third day they were closed! They other days they really should have been open.. today she agreed, they needed to be closed.

I had a lot of downpours today too but the wind said goodbye around 10am. I'm hoping we start to dry out now and...it's gonna be some kind of humid!

Looking at the radar,Orlando is getting some heavy rain again:sad2:

I feel sorry for everyone thats vacca wright now.

But the upside when its raining the park is all yours..:thumbsup2

Got too think possitive, get your ponchos and enjoy the low waight lines:thumbsup2

was walking around universal around 3:15 yesterday..most of the popular rides had at least 30 min. waits.. earthquake, mib, simpsons, and the mummy that I saw. that's not that bad for middle of the day this time of the year.

The remnants of Fay = :headache:

For two days in a row (and probably several more), I've had to take a long detour just to get to I4!

:cool1: I think today is the first normal day we have had in a while :cool1: We woke up to sun!!! We are still under a flood alert due to all the bodies of water cresting and the excess rains we have had... but there is an end in sight. Now we just have to watch the systems that are out there brewing now.. I think there are the two of them
but that will have to be a different thread. ;)

We have been here since Monday evening and it's been gorgeous weather. Really super hot.

With express pass we've had barely any waits. I think we waited 5 mins on Spiderman but that was because they kept having tech difficulties.

Theres a new storm a comin...Gustav. oh, and Hanna right behind him... We should keep this thread open till November whenever hurricane season ends.

anyone from Louisiana waitin to hear whats going on?

Gustav is heading, from what it looks like, to LA & Hannah could possibly be a threat to the east coast of FL/GA area... too early to tell. I will say that Fay has done some heavy flooding down in my county. Just yesterday more homes were evacuated. They have over 400 families now living in shelters due to the sheet flow from the rain bands of Fay. Some families have lost everything! They do not know when they can return to their homes, if ever!! When Fay hit, some said.. oh, it is just a Tropical Storm.. while there were hardly any winds, she did more flood damage than any hurricane that I have seen hit here in FL since I have been living here... and I moved here in 1991. I did not get any water damage, thank God I have flood insurance... many of those with damage did not.. and that is usually how it works too. They think they don't need it, and do not get it :sad2:

i see that gustav is knocking the crap out of jamaica right now...it looks like it wants to stay and party there for awhile.
just waitin over here...bought our water and batteries, not much else to do, but....wait.
sorry to hear fay is still causing trouble.
