Sitting for the fireworks?

Hi everyone! I am currently planning our first trip to WDW in February 2016. I have been to Disneyland a few times. One of my favorite things to do is grab a bench,a few hours before the fireworks and just hang out and people watch, while my DH and DD run around and do all the rides that I cannot.
It is a nice break after a busy day and refreshes me enough to do a little more late in the evening.
Is it possible to do this at WDW? I will do this for a parade as well. I have so many questions... so please bear with me over the next few months.TIA

In sure you could grab a bench early enough in the day. You may not have the best views of the castle show or parade since most people stand.

I'm not sure where or here many benches there are around the hub with all the construction right now, but they might be done by then. Not sure of the timeline for that.

Don't make the mistake I made. Some of the benches near the hub have to be remain empty during the parade and fireworks. CMs are posted there to make sure no one sits along the pathways that are left open. I would hate for you to select a bench only to be told about 15 minutes before the parade/fireworks that you have to move.

Depends on which park you are going to be in and where are you staying. If you are staying at GF you can watch wishes from there. If at BLT go to the top. You can see the Epcot fireworks from the boardwalk. The Epcot fireworks are shot over the water. There are spots all over that are good for viewing. There are several restraunts in world showcase that have a good view. I think the Rose and Crown, I think that's the name, in the England pavilion. Ask for a table near the windows and linger over coffee and dessert while watching the fireworks.

Finding a bench that you could then see the parade from at MK is going to be difficult as most of them are back a ways from the route and people then stand in front of them. I would try along Frontierland/Liberty Square for finding a place to sit for the parades. These areas are not usually as busy so once they put the tape down/ropes up, you might be able to move somewhere that you could sit.

For the fireworks, my best spot has always been the spoke closest to the hub leading towards Tomorrowland. There used to be benches there, but I am not sure now. This was also before they started doing the projections on the castle so I do not know if this is still a good spot for those. I have thought that if I was not concerned with seeing everything perfectly that the outside balcony of Cosmic Rays might be a good spot as well.

The ability to sit is one of the main reasons why I always watch the fireworks from Fantasyland. There's nothing like getting a hot fudge sundae at [can't remember then name-Storybook Treats?] and going across the way to grab a seat. No, you don't get to see the projections on the castle. But the fireworks go off all around you, and to me the pros far out way the cons.

You can only go to the Top of the World if you are a DVC member staying on points. You can see the Epcot fireworks from the boardwalk. Only the high fireworks. The show includes music, lasers, fire and none of this can be experienced from the Boardwalk The Epcot fireworks are shot over the water. There are spots all over that are good for viewing. There are several restraunts in world showcase that have a good view. I think the Rose and Crown, I think that's the name, in the England pavilion. The Rose & Crown is the only restaurant in WS that has excellent views. La Hacienda has a very few tables with excellent view, but many more with no views at all. Ask for a table near the windows and linger over coffee and dessert while watching the fireworks. You can't really see much from the windows, but they have a private - standing - viewing patio.

This won't work for Wishes, but it does for the parades. There are a couple of rocking chairs on a little raised verandah beside the Hall of Presidents. If you could snag one of those, you'd probably be high enough to see over the people standing on the road.

Is there seating in the handicapped area? Would that be a good view of the projection on the castle? I will save a bench for hours if it means I can see the fireworks and projections but I don't want to be in an area if they are going to kick me out because I don't have a fp

The only seating in the handicapped areas is whatever you bring: wheelchair, ECV, or rollator.

Another vote for Fantasyland. I love Wishes from back there. No crowds and I love the feeling of the fireworks going off around us. It works well for DS because he freaks out in the crowds on Main Street.
