Sitter for 8 year old???

I'm a single parent of an 8 year old son and normally I take either kid trips to disney or adult trips (this way I get to ride all the cool rides he wont go on) however now he knows he likes disney and he wants to go the next trip. My problem is it will be 2 adults and him(8). he's okay on some rides but not the ToT or the rockin roller coaster is there a way to either get a sitter for a few hrs or how does parents swap work. I'd like to go on the ride with my friend since he's never been to disney.

any suggestions? I asked the grandparents if they wanted to join us but they are not sure. How does the whole parent swap work? How does my son get to the exit?

If you would like there is the Disney kid clubs in many of the deluxe hotels. They open at 5pm and will watch, feed and entertian your child. Leaving you the evenings free to feast and ride.

DD begs to go every year so she can play with all the kids for a night. Dh and I go for dinner and do whatever we want to do. (DDs favorite is the neverland at the poly!)

The swap has Adult A remain with the child while Adult B rides the ride and then the adults switch off so Adult B waits with the child while Adult A rides. I think that isn't what you really want because you want to ride with your friend.

how does the person who rode 1st get back to where you leave the child with adult 2? I'm assuming they wait in line with you....

I'm going to look into the kid's club. Do you have to stay at that resort to use the service or just as long as you stay at a disney resort?

take me take me.. I will gladly babysit for you.. I hate those kinda rides anyways..wait did I mention I am a disney addict?? im not sure maybe there is a way to have a teen go with you , perhaps a older cousin? I wouldnt want to leave him home just because he dosent like a few rides. gosh let me think of what else to do and if I have a brain storm I will post it. Best of luck to you

ok i brainstormed and this is what i came up with .

Another thought i had ( and cant find the darn link ) is what if you sent him on a pirates ship thing while you and your friend rode on the ride you know he isnt going to like to do? it would be a fun thing for him, give you 2 a break and he would be supervised at all times on the boat seems like a win/win situation. I would sign him up for the pirate cruise, (only from 930-1130 though) and a night of the Kids Club. My husband and I plan on sending our older 3 to both of these on our next trip, they will be 9, 9, & 5.

I thought I read somewhere there was a program at AKL ?? Not Kids Club, but a safari type program for older kids. I hope I'm not dreaming this up, because it sounded like something my kids would really like someday.
