Hi! Anyone here able to tell me a bit more about site visits? We are from the U.K, hoping for an October 2011 Wishes Wedding and we are visiting Orlando this September. We are wondering if we will be able to arrange a site visit being as it is 13 months before our proposed date. How do you go about it? Is it just a site visit you have or do you get to discuss flowers, cakes etc also? Any advice is most appreciated, as always! Many Thanks! xxx :)

We did our site visit around 13 months before our date. It was no problem! We just called the wedding number and made an appointment. They asked what sites you wanted to visit, how many people, etc. We had about two hours with our consultant to show us the sites we picked. We didn't get specific in terms of flowers or cakes. We just talked about the logistics and timing of the day.

We did a site vist in December..we haven't set our date or time period yet...in fact we are still looking at several different locations...We sent our person whom we met with a little bit of information ahead of time via e-mail and she made recomendations...we mulled it over and advised her about a month before we went exactly what we wanted to see and questions we had, so she was prepared. Diane Mahony-Brown was excellent at answering all of our questions!:worship: There was absolutely no pressure whatsover.

Thanks, that's great. Did you get your date ok'd before or after your visit or whilst you were there? I've had a first email back from a wedding consultant named Bill after I requested info from the website, so I will email him back with the dates we are in Orlando this September and see if we can arrange the visit! It's all soooo exciting! :yay:

Sorry, Im not meaning to hijack your post at all, but how was your visit in Dec. ESP. With DFTW Dept.? Was it busy then to actually really see the locations? We trying to plan our site visit/planning for Dec., as it will be 6 months prior to our Anniversary and have never been in Dec. So our plan is to take in the Decorations too. We're aiming for when MVMCP occurs (I know busiest season in Disney), if not site locations prior to and Planning Session in Dec. Thanks.

We didn't have an exact date in mind when we visited but I did pick a date just to have one. I couldn't be penciled in until the 12 month mark so it didn't matter at that point. It was really helpful to see our top few locations.

When we first walked into Franck's we were the only ones there...after our site tour we went back to Franck's to wrap up and Diane insisted on insuring she had anwsered all of our questions...when we went back to Franck's...it was busy, people talking with DFTW people in every office plus people who just walked in were being turned away.

As for seeing the sites, were they busy?..no not at all. As for the parks, they didn't get busy until Sunday December 20th---when we returned from our DCL cruise...the parks were obviously filling up for the upcoming holiday week. Everywhere you look is decorated and totally awesome and beautiful. December was a wonderful time there!:cool1:

Thank you so much for the information. I guess Im worrie the Wedding Pavillion will be busy with other Ceremonies for us not to be able to see it. Thank you for the heads up on seeing people get turned away in Franck's. I'll make sure if we plan an earlier trip just foe sites to make an appointment.

I was just wondering how you went about organizing this as when I phoned DFTW they said that they could not do a site visit and that I should just have a look round myself! I'd much rather be shown around and be able to ask questions, discuss options etc etc so would really appreciate some advice on how to arrange this x

You have to be planning on having a wishes wedding in order to have a site visit. If you are then just call them up and tell them when you'll be in town and they'll tell you what day is good for them.

Hi, thank you for all of your replies. You are all so helpful! Just one more question.... Did you all just visit ceremony locations or did you visit reception/dessert party locations too? And is there a limit on time/how many locations they will show you? Ooops, i guess that was two more questions! Sorry! Thanks again! xxx :thumbsup2

We visited both ceremony sites and reception sites. We were on the tour about an hour and 15 min. but it was in total about 2 hours bc we were on Francks about 45 mob discussing important details and looking at pictures.

Yep, i've got Bill Barchik. I noticed you are from the U.K too! When is you wedding? Did you do a site visit? I've just booked my holiday for September so am hoping to arrange a site visit for then!

I hope he's good :)

No we only decided a few days ago that we were going to have our wedding at Disney.

I would like to go over to check everything out but I don't think we can afford it :(

I know, I can't wait! Just thinking about it I get nervous though. I have never been the centre of attention like that before. And that WP is huge inside!

We are looking at May 2011. Have you been in Sept/Oct before?

Where is your ceremony/reception venues going to be?

:goodvibes

I'd like the WP too, but not sure about the reception venue yet... If we get to do a site visit i'm hoping we can check out some reception sites. Yes i've visited Disney in September and October a few times. Got engaged there last year in September! :)
