We were just at the fort over the 4th of July. Had such a great time. Watched the fireworks from the Poly beach. They were sooo amazing - the best fireworks display I had ever seen. This one day trip was a survey trip to get ready for our big trip next year. We were checking out the sites so we could pick our favorite spot for next year. I know everyone loves the 1500 loop. I can see why now since it is so close to the pool and centrally located. I was wandering about the 100 loop though so we could be close to the beach and close to the boat to the MK. I got to seriously thinking about it after we came back so late and had to walk to the bus stop and then wait so long for a bus. My concern about the 100 loop is that it might be loud there with all the beach activities and the boat coming in. Do any of you avoid the 100 loop and if so what are your reasons?

For us there is too much foot traffic. People coming and going during EMH late at night for example.

There are also trucks in the early hours making deliveries to the store. Sites are close together. Most of the old part of the Fort the sites are closer together.

I stayed in 100 loop for the first time in 25 years this April after a career in 1500/2000 and Premiums near the Meadow TP.

There were some walk throughs usually in the morning on the way to MK opening but it wasn't bad. And some folks from 400 come over to use our Comfort Station because it's closer than the one for their loop. We were backed up to the main road but with the AC running at night I never heard bus/truck noise in my popup.

If you're looking for peace and quiet, 100 is not for you. You do hear the busses, you do hear boat whistles, if the wind is blowing right you can hear the steam train whistle from the MK, and the MK fireworks go thump-thump at night.

But those are things I LIKED about 100. It's quiet enough. If you want the convenience of the location but maybe a little quieter then 200 next door would be better. As a Preferred the sites are more expensive than the equivalent Full sites. Some of them back up to the woods or canal and are really quiet. If that's what you want then get that instead. But I liked being a little bit more in the middle of the action.

PS - I might want to try 200 some time....

We always ask for the 100 loop! Great location for us who don't use the pool. Close to the outpost and dock. Easy to watch the boat parade and MK fireworks!

I also request 100. We have always had an inside loop site (away from the trading post). The convenience to walk to the boat doc, Trails End and the bus depot is great. I didn't notice the increased people traffic. You can hear the boat whistles and the fireworks (if we aren't at the beach watching or in a park) from outside the camper. Inside I don't hear any of it.

As for us, the 100 loop is the 'best'! This is always our requested loop and we have had to stay in very few others.

As for noise, or foot traffic, it has never bothered us at all. What are you camping in? Would imagine that would make some difference. We have a MH, use a noise/sound machine at night (even at home) so we don't have issues with the occasional loud groups going through, or delivery trucks/buses.

But, loops 100-200 are designated pet free, so don't know if that would impact you or not. Again, we love it! :)

We also ask for 100 loop and have had it many times. Had 101 last year and that has the basketball court behind it and had to call security as had some kids were playing basketball at midnight, we wondered where the parents were. But other than that , we love 100 loop and will be requesting it again for our trip next may.

We also had site 101 in April, but thankfully didn't have your issues. We were glad there were at least a 'very few' trees between us and the court - wouldn't like any stray balls hitting our MH :(
