Sit down meal or Buffet?

Starting all my plans now for next year, we are having our reception in LSS, we are expecting between 30 and 40 guests.

Im weighing up our options to either have a sit down served meal or buffet? Can anyone give me some advice on what you did with this amount of people. I am leaning towards the buffet as it gets people up and mixing but also a sit down meal is always a nice touch for guests?

My vote is for a sit down plated meal. I love the feeling that this type of meal service adds to your wedding!!! Plus with that little amount of guests I feel that there would be a lot of wasted food and you might actually be overpaying for food at your reception...from what I have heard Disney buffets are always well stocked! We have 30 guests coming and we will be doing a buffet...it's cheaper, it's gets people mingling, plus we wanted to lose the whole formal feel, gives guests more variety and my guests are big eaters so almost everyone will be doing seconds.

I vote for sit down... I think it's more elegant and just nicer all around.

We did a buffet. It got everyone up a mingling and also allowed people to choos exactly what they wanted to eat, skipping what they didn't. It also allowed people to get seconds, we had a group of healthy eaters so seconds was a plus.
