My kiddos, dd-3 and ds-6 both hate strollers. However I'm wondering if we'll need them in may when we go to WDW. My son will have just turned 7 and dd will be 3 1/2 and we've never been there before. We have one of those sit and stand ones that a friend gave me, I'm wondering if that would do the trick. Guess I'd have to test it out, we haven't used it for a long time and my friend is borrowing it. Plus we've never flown before and I'm unsure how to tote the stroller along...is it considerd luggage? Any help in regards to flying and taking a large stroller along would be great!

I have a sit and stand and love it for everyday. I can't use it for my Disney World stroller as my boys are 4 and 2 1/2 and both may need to crash at the end of the day. The sit and stand has the regular stroller seat for your little one and a small bench seat in back where the older one could sit or stand and ride.

Based on your boys ages, I would think it should be perfect. The little one may need a comfy place to take a nap and the older one should be thrilled to have a place to sit/stand that doesn't require walking to keep up.

As for on the plane, you just take it to the gate with you (when you check your other bags you'll get a claim check for the stroller). They put in on the plane for you and give it back to you as soon as you land. Even with a 7 and 3 1/2 year old, it's still nice to just sit the younger one in the stroller and the older one can ride or you can use his space for bags.

Enjoy your trip

That stroller can be difficult to meneuver with heavier kids. Practice first.

How is the 7 year old at the mall on a buisy weekend all day walking? That's our WDW test. If he's fine, then maybe bring your regular stroller for your younger son and only rent your older child one as needed. If he doesn;t handle it well, then I'd bring something for him.

If you gate check the stroller does it count as one of the 2 bags that you are allowed?

My DS is 6 1/2 and DD is 3 1/2. We just got back. We have a Sit n Stand and there is no way I would have taken it to the parks. Mainly because my kids have outgrown it. It is much too hard to maneuver with DS in it, standing or sitting -- with both of them, it's over the weight capacity anyway. My kids don't stroller ride anywhere except for Disney vacations. We took 2 MacLaren Volos on this last trip. I'm so glad we brought one for DS too, even though he's mostly a walker. He wound up getting sick on day 3 and even though he felt better by day 4, he was not in much of a mood to walk, so we still managed to go out for a little bit with him in the stroller.

When we go to Disneyland, we usually bring a stroller for DD and plan to rent one if DS's legs give out... or just rent a double for both of them. The upside to bringing your own is that you don't have to make them walk or carry them once you get to the exit gate.

As far as the gate check, it's super easy. Just ask the gate agent for a gate check tag. Leave it at the end of the jetway right before you board the plane and they will bring it back up when the plane lands -- very nice for maneuvering through a busy airport.
