Any recomondations on a brand. My oldest Ds is 42 lbs and our youngest is 23 lbs This looks like a better one for us than our current Maclaren side by side. Looking for one for our trip in Dec. Thanks

I loved my BabyTrend Sit & Stand and nearly killed my husband when he sold it in a yard sale.

It was the BEST.

DH and I have been actively researching the sit-n-stands (Baby Trend vs. Joovy Caboose). He is a stay-at-home dad and I ended up taking the 2 kids to the zoo one day recently with one stroller and it was a nightmare - I came home saying I don't know how he has been doing it but we needed a new solution and I didn't want a traditional double stroller (too big)
So this is what we have found...
The Baby Trend is really nice, but it is bigger than the Joovy - basically as long as a single file double stroller. I found it a little difficult to manuever due to its size. It is quite heavy to lift and carry. It has a parent tray and the seat for the toddler is easy for him/her to sit on regardless of the position of the front seat. It is cheaper.
The Joovy Caboose is a bit more compact and is actually the same length as our travel system stroller, but this means that the toddler is way more cramped in the back seat when the front seat is reclined. The toddler seat does slide back and forth to try to give more room in this situation, but there are a lot of reviews that report that this moving seat is problematic. Also somewhat heavy when folded, however they do have a the Ultralight Caboose which is new for 2007 and lighter, but pricey (includes a parent tray thing which the Caboose doesn't have).
When folding both of these, the canopy has to be folded up and sticks straight out of the top making both somewhat awkward when carrying and trying to fit into a car trunk.
So, this is what we decided...we are getting the Joovy Ultralight Caboose. We figured that what we were looking for was a nice stroller for younger DS with the convenience of a spot for older DS when he needs it occasionally - sitting if possible and standing if need be (younger DS reclined in front seat). If we were wanting something for both of them to sit in all of the time, we would go with a double stroller. We are getting the Ultralight for the lighter weight and the included parent holder.
Definitely try to see both models though - we had to search and search our area for them but it was really helpful to try both out!

I bought a Joovy Caboose last fall for the WDW trip. DD (6 at time of trip) was pushing the weight limit at 50 pounds and DS 3 is mid 30s in wieght. I was a bit worried I had too much weight on it but DD was not really on it that much so figured it would be ok. It worked out great. DD walked a lot and DS rode in the back so it was easy for him to hop on and off and when DD did get tired I was so happy to have this so she could sit in the back for a little bit and DS went up front. Also wonderful for going through airport. We have a long walk to the Delta terminal and I put DS in the back and my carry-on in the front seat with DD walking (just me and kids past trip). I love the Joovy Caboose!

Thank you so much. Its funny I also decided after a trip to the Bronx Zoo that we needed a change!!! Thank you so much for your detailed review, just what I was looking for!!!! :thumbsup2

I have a Joovy too.

I got it in September & love it.

All 3 of my kids go on it.

The baby is in front-15 mo, 20 lbs.

My ds usually sits-3 1/2, 30 lbs.

My dd stands (or walks)-6, 45 lbs.

I am still able to push it (don't ask me to push it up a big hill but I could).

I even use it with just one kid when I go for walks.

Oh & when I just have my ds & my youngest, sometimes my ds will sit & face forward so he can see in front of him. He puts his feet in the basket.

Wow! I am glad I found this thread!! I am pregnant (due in October) and have a 3 year old. And I have been looking at these strollers too. I think they would be great for us. My 3 year old hates his stroller, because he feels trapped, so I hope he would like sitting or standing in the back. We are also planning a trip to WDW next September, and those strollers seem like they would be awesome for there. My only question!!! Are they difficult folding up, to get them on and off the buses???

We have the sit n stand and it was bought just for our last WDW trip (2004). DS 4 and DS 2 1/2 it was the best buy. We love it and are planing to take it in 4 days to WDW the boys will be 7 and 5. I know that they are a liitle big, but I know that they will be glad to have a place to sit or stand. I might not be able to push it when they are both on it but I know that I can pull a wagon with them both in it so maybe I can. One is 48 lbs and the other is about 38 lbs. I know that this will be the last time we use it but I'am glad that we have not sold it yet. I also feel that I will be able to get a good price for it when I sell it.
