Ok in 4 years or seasons they never once mentioned having a dog now all of a sudden one appears and needs to be put to sleep

Did I miss seeing a dog in any show? I kept thinking back to all the full family get togethers in the different houses and back yards and just can't remember ever seeing that dog

This is pretty much what I said to my dd last night, lol.

I was pretty annoyed with the 2nd episode on Sunday. It seemed to me like it was a big whiney gimme gimme show. Oh poor us, we need this money to buy our 4 giant homes. So you need to purchase from us.

& I guess they expected people to log onto the website immediately when it was launched and start tossing everything in their cart and check out really fast?? How bizarre.

And when they laughed at Meri reading the comment that everything was overpriced? Um it is....you're trying to make too much profit off of stuff that doesn't appeal to the mainstream audience.

I don't get the "living on the financial edge" bit if the previously posted figure of
$75,000/adult/episode is correct. That would be a very high annual income per household (at least for now). New houses or not, one would wonder why Christine couldn't pay her water bill on that kind of money, or for that matter why they would have any outstanding debt at all. They don't appear to be living a particularly lavish lifestyle; we do a lot more on less. Very curious for more insight into this!

Are any of them working except Kody? And why are they even thinking about a start up business in this economy? Seriously. Did I read somewhere that Las Vegas has the worse housing market in the country? I can't imagine how much it is costing them to build 4 brand new houses! Their plans sound pretty swank. It seems to me that they could move further outside of Las Vegas and build a really big home for all of them ,since they are missing the closeness that they had in Utah.

I completely agree with this.

Why aren't they building one big combo house like they had before? Just because 4 the four houses are right next to each other does not mean they are set-up for dozens of people to gather together for family events without being right on top of each other. I cannot see it being the same.

Christine sounds like she misses the group mom thing, in Utah she was the stay at home mom while Meri and Janelle worked outside the home. She cared for their children and she is now expecting the same from them. I don't see that happening either...

Before the three residences were separate but connected.

They've said that they want separate houses (at least in part) to protect their resale value.

It just seems like, from the first few seasons, that she went out and was the second major breadwinner, while the other two wives/moms took care of her kids. (Maybe I should have said "traditional" husband!) She's always seemed to be the one worried about finances, and often mentioned that she worked really long days at her old job in Utah.

Plus in the episode where she and Kody go off for their own vacation, he talks about how she's always been the one he could talk to about everything, how they were friends long before anything else, etc.

I know it's mean to generalize, but it seems as though he has his "first" wife, his "friend/working" wife, his "mothering" wife, and then his "trophy" wife. Which, if it works for them, so be it!

Me too! This lifestyle is very interesting to me. Part of me thinks I could probably do it too, because I really want a family and the husband is an after thought to me. I don't get along with a lot of women though lol.

I thought the exact same thing. It was like they were asking you to please buy their stuff because they have all these expenses they need to cover.Like thats my problem?

And, while we're on the subject of Merri,what is it with those layered tops she wears? She always seems to have some type of sweater on with a spaghetti strap top over it. JMHO but I think its soooo frumpy!
