I know this is a popular topic and there are lots of threads, so naturally I figured I'd start a new one! :rotfl2: :cool1: :rotfl:

I just received an offer of 5 months for $20. It's siriusxm.com/lowrate22.

If you do this do you have to pay $15 activation fee again? I just activated and signed up for the monthly plan, would I have to cancel that and then sign up for one of these offers that come up to get the low rate? When I try now it says that I'm already active. Thanks for your help, I'm new to Siriusxm and trying to get the deal rates. =)

According to the offer I got in the mail:

5 months for $20
waive the $15 activation
no commitment, cancel anytime
automatically renews every 3 months at regular rate unless you call to cancel

The letter does specifically reference my radio (haven't had it active for awhile).

I think I can call before my next month is due and say I'm going yo cancel and hope they offer me the low rate. Thanks for the offer details.

This is a good deal. We cancelled our subscription several months ago because we were paying $14.95/month for the longest time (we've been XM radio subscribers since 2003) and we called to see if we could get a better deal. After not being able to successfully negotiate over the phone we cancelled. Low and behold after a few weeks we received a "come back" offer in the mail for 6 months for $25, so that is what we have now. We did not have to pay a reactivation fee. Once our six months is up we will see what other offer we can get.

I just got 5 months for $25 ($27.84 after the fees) 2 days ago. I have another radio up on May 1st so I'll have to remember that rate code. I asked about renewing my other radio that day, but he told me to wait until a few days before and call back.

Thanks

I had a free 6 months when I got my car and when it was due to end, I got a phone call about renewing at 8 am (grr) and the guy goes "I can get you 6 months at 4.99 a month! Just pay $30 now and then the 4.99 each month!" I'm like you've got to be kidding me so I said no and I get this long rant how he's the only one authorized to offer me this price. I called back the next day and said I wanted to cancel. This new guy asked why, I said it was too expensive. He offers me 10.99 a month and I said "Well I got a phone call yesterday that I could get it for 4.99 a month". He put me on hold for all of 30 seconds to "check if he could honor that price" and he did. So I got 6 months for 30.

I still sort of wonder if that was what the first guy was trying to offer me but was phrasing it incorrectly, or if that's what he wanted me to think he was offering me but I'd actually be paying $60 over the course of the time frame.

I canceled my subscription last week. I was offered:

1 year for $89 (I think)
6 months for $45
5 months for $20
(plus additional fees)

I did not renew.

Don't give them your charge card number! Tell them to send you a bill.

I did that, at least a week went by before I got the bill in the mail. No exaggeration- the next day I had an email AND a voice mail reminding me to pay my bill!

Tried to renew but could not get the same rate I paid last year. The other thing I'm wondering is what packages people are getting.
I'm looking for "all access" . This should have both xm/sirius stations and the ability to listen online or smartphone.
They tried to get me to do all access on 1 radio and select on the other.
It's like HBO/Showtime. 1 has HBO where the other doesn't. We've had both for years and I hate that it isn't as simple as just renewing the same rate. Oh well, I have a couple days. I can live with out it, I just thinks It's nice.
On a side note, I thought before I got satellite radio that it was commercial free, that's not true!

My offer was for the XM Select Package. This has way more stations than I'm ever going to listen to.

I realized yesterday that my five months were over and they'd charged my card on the 2nd (I was thinking I had through May 2). So, I called to cancel. They tried to get me to do $89 +taxes/fees for one year. That's $9.33 a month. Six months at a similar rate $9.13 a month. I said no, it's just more than I want to pay. So she says, let me see if I can get your old rate back ($25 for 5mon plus taxes/fees). She could do that, so I let them keep me again and I'm getting a refund for $17.07 (they charged $49ish for three months). To me it's worth $6-7 a month, but not more than that.

Wonder how many customers would they have if they just made their basic plan $5/month. I know I would probably would keep it.

I had been periodically getting those 5 month offers like others have said, but just recently got an offer for 2 months free.

I'll be interested to see what deal you receive. Same exact scenario just happened to us. I hated to cancel, but did. Happy to get the comeback offer.

I cancelled ours yesterday and was offered the same deals. I didn't ask if they included fees or not. I was tempted at the 5 months for $20 because we are getting ready to go to WDW and having radio the whole way is nice, but I figured that money was better spent on Dole Whips.
