When we got our new car we got a 3 month trial of Sirius radio. I have fallen in love with it. You can listen to music and not have to listen to a lot of commercials. Now I want to get Sirius for the home. I would rather not run it through a computer.

Does anyone have a home Sirius radio device and do you like it? Any thoughts?:surfweb:

I have it at home, but the Sportster (older version) can be transfered into a car that doesn't have Sirius in it. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sirius!!! We have the boom box that we use with the Sportster and we will listen to it when we are in our camper or at a party with out having to worry about commercials. I have Sirius in my car and when I am looking for a new car, that is one pre-requisite that I HAVE to have in a new car.

I also say an iphone app. Or another smartphone app. You can simply plug it into your stereo with an aux cable.

I'm going to have to look into the app or something portable. I hate listening to the commercials.

I have it in my car. Since I moved down to an area that doesn't have great radio stations I decided to keep my subscription. I love it. Wait until Christmas, they have stations that play only Christmas music.

That was a wonderful selling tactic to offer it for 3 months free.
Pretty Sneaky. LOL!

I bought it because my home area no longer had a good 1950's station. I must say, I love it, too!

I also love that you can see the title and the artist.

:) I love having the USB port for my Ipod in my new car--Disney music 24/7. We liked Sirius too when we had it for three months. My Ipod stays in car and my Iphone goes with me.

We have an older starmate sirus radio that can go in the car in a "boom box" in our bedroom. That was our original sirus radio from 6 or 7 years ago.

I have the old sportster and the boom box. It is great for summer nights out by the fire or for background music at cookouts.

The best part is I haven't paid for it over 5 years. It was on my ex girlfriends account, she was supposed to cancel it and I was going to reactivate it on my account but it has never turned off. Part of me kinda hopes that she is still paying for it.

Big Sirius fan here. I have it in my truck, through my internet, and on my iPad. I also have a Logitech Squeezebox radio that streams Sirius from my WiFi internet radio. I use it both in and out of the house and it works great. Check out the Logitech website for different options.

We bought a new car and it came free for 6 months with the car. We were hooked. We have resigned back on and use the iPhone app for when we are at home and want to listen to the radio.

My husband and I each have had XM in our cars for the past 3 years and really enjoy it.
I also recently purchased their XMp3i portable radio to use in our house. We just hook it into our stereo and have great sound through the speakers (which we have in multiple rooms). It's been terrific having it in the house.
It's also a stand alone player- so you can listen on the go with ear buds.

I haven't tried the smartphone app yet, but I think I prefer having a radio that's not tied to my phone. Just my opinion.

I have XM. They usually sell equipment to put on your stereo at home and they usually sell those on their website. They may also sell radios that you carry on you. But like everyone said, they have an app too. I have XM (owner since '05) and I got the Best of Sirius package 2 years ago. Love it! Love all the sports on it too! Especially any NFL Game and College Football!

I love love love Sirius/XM
They did combine companies last Spring.
They will give you deals if you ask. I use the app on my ipad and Iphone.
It is the best ever. They allow you to use it on PC as well... its awesome!
Very addicted.
There is all kinds of cool exclusives...like when comic con was going on there were live panels.

Xm/sirus is great. You can also sign up for the lifetime plan. It's 500 hundred dollars for a lifetime subscription. That's for each radio so if you have 2 radio's it's double.

I did signup for a year subscription and I am loving it! There is even a Halloween music channel. It's amazing how you can go from one extreme to the other!

Nov 2011: I called the phone# listed on back on the monthly invoice to CANCEL my Sirius XM Satellite Radio account -- namely 866-523-7474. I was told it was cancelled.

Jan 2012: I receive an invoice in the mail from Sirius. I called them to dispute the charges and was told the account was still active. I reiterated the events and re-requested cancellation. I was given an apology by the customer service rep and told my account was now (truly) cancelled. This call went overseas (non-Americas).

Feb 2012: I receive a letter from Sirius that my account was now being placed in collections. I called them again, now completely frustrated. This call went overseas (non-Americas). I requested to speak to someone in authority, such as a supervisor. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then given another number to call -- namely 877-859-9172. No further explanation was provided to me. I called that number only to discover that it belongs to "EOS CCA" - a company that handles COLLECTIONS for Sirius Radio. I was completely pissed off and disgusted at the deplorable level of 'customer service' provided to me by the rep who sent me in this direction.

What's even more humorous, the EOS CCA collections agent stated that she had "NO IDEA" why Sirius transferred me to them, as my account was not showing in their system as "in collections" status and suggested that I call back Sirius and tell them as much. She eluded that this is not the first time she's witnessed this scenario, hinting that Sirius' Customer Service was a mess.

After calling back Sirius, the rep I spoke with assurred me that my account was indeed in collections, despite prior history as explained above. I insisted that I am not paying the outstanding amount (which, by the way, was only $25 at this time). The rep stated that my concern would be forwarded to the appropriate department AND that someone would get back to me shortly with a proposed resolution.

Mar 2012: An official letter arrives from EOS CCA - address "700 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA, 02061" with phone listed as 877-859-9172 / 781-753-4008, stating that my Sirius account is now delinquent and in collections. Shortly thereafter, another invoice arrives from Sirius ... and they've added on $5.35 LATE FEE.

What a disaster. Sirius Radio - you've lost me as a customer and, if others are smart, you'll lose business from them as well.

I will post more here, after I call back Sirius Radio this week. I will DEMAND to speak with someone in America, as clearly my requests have been ignored or "lost in translation" due to foreign, non-English speaking customer service reps at Sirius XM.

Mar 2012: As a follow-up to my prior post, I called Sirius Radio customer service. Again, the call went to "Asia" (I asked rep's location). I requested to speak to someone in the Americas but was informed "that's not possible".

The rep informed me that my account's status was "Locked / Written Off" and, therefore, he could not take any action. I asked him to clarify and he stated that I needed to call the collections agency EOS CCA to dispute. I told him that a collection agency's job is to COLLECT not negotiate (aside from the possibility of reducing the amount owed, in some situations).

I asked him to review my account, reciting that I had been calling in on this issue since my initial cancellation in NOV 2011. He admitted to seeing that I indeed called .. and that various options (renewal plans costing less) were offered to me .. and he further stated that I ACCEPTED one. I told him this was entirely UNTRUE - while those offers were made, my original goal in Nov 2011 to cancel remained en force.

Clearly, Sirius Radio is running a SCAM here, as the purposefully left my account in ACTIVE status, as I suspected all along. To recount in summary, I cancelled in Nov 2011, all of December passed without invoices, letters, etc from Sirius or affiliates. Then, in Jan 2012, I received the delinquent letter from Sirius. I called to dispute and, despite being told it would be investigated and discussed with me, my account was placed in collections.

What a scam! Assuming Sirius Radio is doing this to others, based on this blog alone, that's QUITE A LOT OF $$$ they are scamming customer's out of, assuming that their bullying tactics result in people just paying them to shut up and go away.

I will be filing with the BBB as well as State agencies who handle such FRAUD.

They did the same to me. I had to file two fraud complaints with my bank. After I asked to speak to their legal department and told them the gravity of the situation, everything miraculously cleared up.

Christy still has it in her car, but the audio quality has gone downhill. The amount of compression and codecs they are using has squeezed all of awesomeness out of he music for me.
