Singles dances

Has anyone been to one? I've been invited to one, and although I like to dance. I'm not exactly sure what I'd be getting myself into. Somehow I invision some nursing home dance hall.

UGH!! I've been and it was horrible. We had one drink and left. I don't like singles events.
