single rider test track question

I swear the only times I witness single rider line issues is at TT. What is it about that line? I once saw a woman have an epic fit because the CM wouldn't let her ride with her young daughter after they had gone through the single rider line. I hope WDW stands behind their CMs when they don't allow people to whine their way onto TT this way, and they don't get in trouble for being "mean".

In general, if there is some reason your party needs or wants to be in the same car or beside each other, do not get in the single rider line. It's that simple. It's not meant for people to use to get a shorter wait but still ride together. You give up your guarantee to ride together when you opt for the shorter wait. If anyone in your party cannot ride completely alone, single rider is not for you.

I'm not sure there are enough of us that go solo to justify a single rider line without "non-singles" also using it. If the line didn't hold enough people to keep up with filling the empty seats there is no reason for the line.

As much as I'd like to be able to use a SR line to walk on every ride with no wait that would defeat the purpose. The SR line isn't there for single guests benefit, it's for Disney's benefit to quickly fill empty seats and maximize efficiency.

On my recent trip, a couple in the single rider line tried to tell the CM that they could not be split up. The CM yelled over to another cast member something to the effect of "they can't ride separately so show them where the exit is". The couple decided that they could, after all, ride apart.

I witnessed the CM doing the same thing last March. But the couple in front of me in the SR line decided to leave rather than split up. What I don't get is that this couple was talking to a CM OUTSIDE the pavilion at the entrance to the SR line. Apparently they told the outside CM that they understood they would be split up, but figured they'd be able to convince the loading CM to let them ride together. I'm glad she refused them.

That is what I find frustrating though. If there are two spare seats in a car together, what they should do is call for a couple from the standby line. So many times on our last trip we saw exactly that - two single riders being selected from the SR line (a lot of the time people who appeared to be together) when my husband and I were just a couple of families back in the standby line and could have been called forward. To me, single rider is just that - should be used to fill a single space in a car.

It's probably just more efficient for CMs to load those two singles rather than search for a party of 2 from the combined SB/FP line. Most likely you got on the next set of cars anyway.

Not sure if it's different now with FP+, but before, for the first 15-20 minutes after rope drop, a lot of cars were filled mostly or ENTIRELY with single riders. It took the regular line time to design their cars and trickle into the loading area.

But if you're riding without the rest of your party, then you're a single rider.
according to some posters, just waiting in line with other people you know is not being a (true) single rider. I agree with you :)
