Something jo-jo said in another post got me thinking (thanks jo-jo!). Friends of ours recently went to DL (DH, DW, 3 DS) and they were able to ride lots of their favourite rides due to utilizing single rider lines. I personally have used these a couple of times when our kids were tiny and after we put them to bed in the hotel my wife told me to go back to DL and get in a few more hours! As our kids have grown up though and love the rides we don't use them at all. At first it was a safety issue as our girls would not have been comfortable riding alone. Now that they would it comes down to we don't love the rides just because of the rides, we love to ride them together. I'm not being judgy, everyone is different and the single rider worked great for our friends. What do you guys do in regards to single rider. Yes, no or after we have ridden once together. I guess the main reason our family fell in love with DL was the magical times together.

We are LLMP maximizers and rarely feel the need to ride SR. That said, we have occasionally used it on RSR when the line was super long, but even then it is pretty rare because we like having all of us in the pic.

I am solo and love the single rider lines. When I first started going to Disneyland California I was in a friend group and we only did one day park hoppers. We did single rider to maximize our time in the park. I travel from Ireland, a 10 hour flight across 8 time zones, so experiencing as much as I can in a short time is very important.

The best ones for me this year was Web Slingers. I love that ride and get a high score, so its great fun when I join a group or family and at the end when the scores are added up, the group score is high.

However I have had an issue once at Radiator Springs. I was in the single rider line and the CM assigned me a car with a family. The Disney Mom took issue with me joining their car and tried to stop me getting in the car. I explained that I was assigned the car by the CM and I got in the car. I whooped and hollered all the way around and put my arms up when I knew the on ride photo was coming up.

Families need to know that there are rides with single rider lines and solo people like me will be assigned to their ride vehicle to fill up space.

BPT, I too usually score high on WebSlingers and am a single rider. Cracks me up when people kinda look askance and then at the end after I’ve left them all in the dirt they usually go, wow you’re good at this!

yep, at the start when as a single rider Ive been assigned a vehicle, I get "the look" then after the first screen when my score is the highest, the atmosphere changes and its all go team

I really miss riding racers as a family. But we are unwilling to pay for an ILL and the line is always too long for us to wait in. We have tried a couple times riding stand by and we are all cranky after. Lol. So we ride single rider for racers now.

A couple times my kids were assigned cars as a single rider and when the other people they join with load, they would only sit on the ends, basically forcing our kids to wait until the next car and messing up the flow of the queue. I understand it can be awkward sitting with strangers. I’m pretty sure these people would not do that if my kids were adults.

I have never used Single Rider before as I agree with you the most fun part of a trip to Disneyland for us is to enjoy the rides together as a family. We have all discussed this issue for our upcoming trip and have agreed that we are going to try Single Rider for the first time on RSR this time around. We will still do it together once a day using ILL but we love that ride so much and want to ride it as many times as we can so for a return ride we will try Single Rider Lane. That is the only ride we will use it on though.

Funny side note about Web Slingers. On our last trip my adult daughter and I were riding that for the first time. I had read to aim for far away targets so that is what I did. I got a huge score so our team score at the end was really impressive. The two other people we were riding with were clearing a bit bummed when we first joined their vehicle and heard us saying how we were so excited to be riding this for the first time, they were sure we were going to be hopeless but they sure changed their tune at the end of the ride and were giving us high fives and telling us how well we had done. It was so funny.
