Single Rider Lines

My husband and I will be going with our toddler, so we will each be solo riders on most of the big rides. We are planning on using fastpass and rider switch, but I'm wondering how the single rider lines are. Are any of the single rider lines usually comparable to the fastpass line (so we shouldn't waste a fastpass on them)? Are there any single rider lines we should avoid? Thank you!

Use single rider for Radiator Springs. A fastpass will tie up your fastpasses for a couple hours. Use that fastpass for Guardians because GOTG does not have a single rider line. Matterhorn single rider can be really, really slow. I'd use fastpass for that. I'm not a fan of Indiana Jones fastpass, but I love their single rider line. Fastpass joins up with standby really early in the queue so it can be a long wait. Mostly, I'd use single rider for the ones that have it so that you don't tie up a fastpass where you could be using single rider.

There are lots of SR lines at DLR. Like 8 or 10. There is list linked on the main sticky thread at the top of the forum.

I have found that Soarin never is worthwhile and Matterhorn often is not. The others are.

My daughter actually prefers the single rider line for Matterhorn. The single rider and FP use the same line until the split and rarely is it longer. If she has an "instant" FP so it doesn't block her out, she will use SR on Matterhorn. Soarin' SR is useless.

For Matterhorn, I find that I often get stuck in the line right before boarding. It can can be 10 minutes between loading single riders. Getting to that part is pretty quick though. Soarin hasn't had single rider since the new movie started.

Indy can be hit or miss. Sometimes they stop SR, sometimes you wait a long time for the safety video. You can get rider swap when using SR or you can each pull an FP and get a rider swap. If your child is tall enough for FP rides or rides without a height requirement (HM, BLAB, TSMM) you're probably better off using FP on those and SR while waiting to pull the next FP. There really isn't any optimal way to do it because FP returns and SR can vary so much on any ride throughout the day.

I've gone solo quite a bit, so SRL is my friend. The ones that are definitely worth it are:

Indy - usually about 10-15min wait
Splash - could be walk on or I've waited up to 20min before
RSR - if the line reaches the bridge, it will be a 30min wait
Grizzly - always walk-on
CA Screamin' - 10-15min wait
Goofy's - 15-20min wait, depending on how busy it is

I have not done Matterhorn because of my bad back :(

I've not used SR for Indiana Jones. When does a SR join the line as compared to someone with a FP?

SRL does not join the line. Instead, you go in through the exit, up the elevator, then down the elevator and then wait for them to put you in a vehicle.
The FP line joins the regular line right when you enter the building.

That's just how I remembered it working. But I thought that now they would have you join the line earlier to see the safety movie?

They send you through the side of the safety movie, but they only take 6-8 people per showing, and that's shared with the HA line. If there's a long HA line I've waited 40 minutes just for the movie. Then when it ends you merge with the line until the elevator. There's a combined SR/HA waiting area on the platform. I've waited 15-20 minutes there too.

Yes, I was disappointed to find that out yesterday.

I found out the hard way too. And the same day the RSR single rider line was closed. Sometimes SR lines are closed, but I never know why. And the app doesn't necessarliy say, but the Mousewait app sometimes tells you.

Wow, I've never seen the RSR single rider line closed if the actual ride was open.

As I've noted before, RSR single rider CAN be great. I rode RSR twice in 20 minutes in single rider total, where regular line is 30 min, and I practically walked on. I.e. I spent 20 minutes riding it twice. I've seen single rider be slow so it can be a gamble. The best time at least for me for single rider is early morning before 10.

Screaming can be good, but you may have to wait since the ride normally fits 2 across.

Splash mountain can be really confusing since you enter at the exit, and CM don't always seem to notice you.

Never tried Indy single rider.

I liked Matterhorn single rider before fastpass, haven't tried it since fp came.

Never tried GRR single rider, but I heard it is similar to splash.

Goofy sky school has same issue as screamin, seats are only 2 across, so you may have to waita while, or you could walk on.

Indiana Jones--this usually goes fairly quick--under 15 minutes usually, including the ride. You will go in the exit, and veer to the right at the rope (it's obvious), then they will lead you where to go. You're with the regular line up the incline, then follow the HA line into the elevator.
Matterhorn--this one can be a roll of the dice--we've been through it as a walk-on, and we've waited 20 minutes. But, usually less than 10 minutes.
Splash--this one gets confusing. It often gets mixed up with the HA line, and so the single riders think the line is terrible. I'm not complaining ;) Makes the real SRL a lot shorter!
Goofy's Sky School--usually short, but you only get a seat when there's a group of 1 or 3 (or other odd numbers). Longest wait I've had was like 5 minutes pre-ride.
Screamin'--a confusing line (there's 2 places you wait, once before the elevators and once after) but tends to move at a very fast pace. Don't pay attention, and you'll be overlooked and people will go in front of you. Longest wait I've had was like 10 minutes, including the ride.
Grizzly--my favorite on a hot day--I've never waited more than 10 minutes in line.
Radiator Springs--this one can suck. It's well-marked, it's well-known, and it's a long standby/fastpass line, so people use the SRL continually. I've waited upwards of 45 minutes in the SRL here. Part of the issue is the people in the SINGLE RIDER LINE begging cast members to seat them with their friends who are also in the SRL....

Thank you for taking the time to write this! It's really helpful to me. One question, though: what is an "HA line"? I know of FP lines & standby lines but am incredibly curious to find out what the "HA" stands for. Thanks again!
