Single Rider Lines - To Split Up or Not To Split Up?

There's no way I'm going to get FPs for Test Track this time (we got Soarin), and would love to do EE more than once.

It's just hubby and I, so what do you think? Just go single?

Our Epcot day is Sat Sept 2nd and our AK day is Mon Sept 4th (labor day).

Maybe the single rider lines stack up and aren't an advantage? Maybe the CMs don't pull from the rider line but try and fit odd numbered groups together? Maybe it would mean hubby & I would ride far apart and one of us would spend too much time waiting for the other to arrive?

Sheesh.

I do.

Single rider lines aren't always the smartest choice. For example: the single rider line at Rock 'n' Rollercoaster of takes longer than the standby line.

We were at TT yesterday. Single rider line said 45 minutes but it was 15...faster than the FP line. So I'd try that one!

I was in HS by myself two weeks ago. I went in the single rider line at RNR and took note of the last group in the "regular" line--they were easy to remember because they had 3 sons that were all wearing the exact same shirt. I watched as they got on the ride at least 10 minutes before I did--so I would have been better off just getting in the regular line.

The Test Track single rider line moves especially fast since the rows are 3 across. It seems like they need that extra person a lot more often there than on the 2 seats across rides.

We did single rider in TT and EE last week. Great way to ride quicker. Did see them tell families they'd be split up- also tell a girl she couldn't choose the be in front car on EE.

On TT they told my son what number to go on. It was with a family of 4- dad told my son they were riding alone. Wife told my son to get in which he did!

For us, yes, definitely we split up. There are plenty of other rides we ride together that we would both rather do single rider at TT and EE to be able to get more rides in. By doing single rider, we can get 3, 4, 5 or more trips on these rides, whereas we would only get one or two if we did FP+ or standby together. I don't ride RnR as much anymore, but that's the one that can be a bit hit or miss as to whether the single rider line is faster than just waiting in line.

Always single rider when wait times are high. No debate for me either. As posted, all get off at nearly the same time anyway. I almost never even book FP for rides with single lines in favor of those that don't.

We always do single rider for EE and TT because when we've gone, the lines are always shorter for those two for single riders. You shouldn't have to wait long on each other, we've even gotten lucky and gotten in the same car on TT a few times.

There were four of us that had a FP for TT. We rode 2 in front and 2 in back. There was a husband and wife from the single rider line that took the third seat in each row and their daughter was in the car behind them. Single rider definitely worked for them.

Everest has a wicked cool queue which you completely miss single rider. That being said, we almost always ride it single rider because it is SO much faster and easier.
TT - we always do that single rider if we don't have a fp.

The EE single rider line usually isn't open first thing in the morning, so that's when we tend to check out the queue. It is a really well themed queue. Worth going through when wait times aren't too long for sure.

I think it was my January 2016 trip, BF and I went straight to the single rider line for TT upon park opening. We got to the loading point before the first standby group had made it through the design room, so we were the first two to arrive to be loaded that morning. Despite being the only two people to be loaded, we still were loaded into separate rows. So there was a picture of us, one behind the other, in an otherwise empty car. It was totally fine, we know they split parties up when they choose to go through the single rider line, just thought it was amusing they stick to their guns even when there are only two people to load into cars.

Like someone else said, it sounds like single rider on RnRC is hit or miss. A single rider rode w our party in July and I asked her how long her wait was. She said 20 mins (standby was 65), and she and her friends (4?) were all in the same ride vehicle (obv not sitting together tho).
