planning a return trip. Me, my husband and 2 older teenage boys. We are all fine riding single rider for most rides. Do all rides have single rider and how does wait time compare to express pass line. Trying to determine if express pass worth the on site hotel cost. Had them last time so we may be spoiled. But tickets and hotels have increased prices since we went

No, not all rides have single rider. It can vary. Often it is longer than express.

Agree with damo, have seen the single rider line really long compared to EP.

Go with EP and spoil yourself again........:)

It really depends on how many days you're going. If you only have one day and like to ride things multiple times it would be worth one night at RPR for the four people to have unlimited express passes. You will also get early entry. If you're going two days you still only need a room for one night. Check in first and use your hotel key to go to the park and you can also use it check out day. If you will be there all week you'll be able to ride things plenty of times and see everything without express.

The single rider line is not always open. Some rides wait to open it until a certain time. Some rides will close it off if it gets too full. (Hulk may be the only ride that actually post a single rider wait time). You almost never know what kind of wait you are getting into with it. I've used it to virtually walk on to a 45 minute wait at Forbidden Journey (Single rider seems to be always open here and always with a low wait). I've also waited just as long as the 35 minute posted time on Mummy (and also walked on with a very similar wait time).

Single rider is pretty nice to shorten times, but it is not the same in predictability as Express. If you can afford it, Express wins.

The only rides for which I'd rely on single-rider are Hulk (not that I ride it myself, but going off others) and Forbidden Journey. I find I can ride FJ literally seven times in an hour using single-rider. It's always moving. But other than that, I highly recommend staying on-site for EP. For four people, you're saving over $320 a day by getting the unlimited EP with your room keys versus buying them separately. Obviously, it's not all saved, as you have to pay the hotel rates, but I'm pretty sure that if you calculate it, the additional hotel cost pays for itself with what you're saving and the extra time it gives you in-park.

Op a lot depends on the dates you will be doing the darkside

There are some periods where ep is not necessary

All the onsite hotels allow early entry to the parks
A lot can be covered in the potter areas during that time

If your teens are 18, there will be an additional $25 + tax per night for them

5 allowed in the deluxe rooms but only 2 adults included in that basic room price
Each additional "adult" has the surge charge per night

There are some days of the week where park attendance is lower
(Sun/mon/tue)

Srl's are a good thing but some are not opened until hours after a park opens
And wait times will vary using them

For me I always stay deluxe as I can take my time in the parks and enjoy everything without pressure to rush from a ride to another ride

The parks for me are more than just doing rides

My DD and I used single rider the past 2 trips. Mostly for 2nd rides. The Harry Potter rides are worth walking through at least once. Don't think you can use EP for those anyway. For some reason the SRL in Transformers has seemed long. The majority of time we have ended up in the same ride vehicle. In Forbidden Journey, we ended up side by side, which we never expected! The days we went, wait time were only about 35 to 45 mins so we basically walked on using SRL.
