so since i went to WDW solo this time, i decided to try to single rider line for Test Track. it was only a 10 min wait compared to the 65 for the regular standby. so we get up to the loading area, and the CM take a bunch of us single riders and assigns us a place to stand. well, all the sudden, this lady flips out on the CM, because he split her party of 6 up (they were in the SINGLE RIDER LINE), between 2 vehicles. she was so angry at him, and the CM just stood there.

i was so angry at this woman, she knew she was in the single rider line, and the sign says "YOU WILL BE SPLIT UP" and she gives the CM a problem for doing his job? it was a sad day....

any thoughts?!?

those poor CM's - you couldn't pay me enough money to watch people get that upset about something so trivial on your hard earned expensive vacation :sad2: We ride single pass a lot and sometime we are together, sometimes we are not - either way, we saved an hour to do other things and that is what the crabby old lady should have been thinking and if I was the CM, that is what I would have snapped at her - hence why I would never get hired at WDW :rotfl2:

people just don't read signs and they expect to be catered to even when they don't follow the rules

Unfortunately you see that a lot. Since so many people are in commando mode, instead of "enjoy our vacation' mode, they fly off the handle more easily.

We've witnessed a few truly ugly and scary incidents over the years there. But Disney security is very good and very fast.

I wanted to say No wonder he's had t hat many heart attacks. Instead of everyone being understanding, they should lock him up at a funny farm for a while.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
That just makes me laugh!!

Those CM's obviously forgot that the rules didn't apply to that woman. I'd have marched her back to the sign and told her to read it. Those CM's shouldn't have to take that kind of behavior.

a small minotity of people think the world should revolve around them sad but true :confused3

I was there in May and also used the single rider line for Test Track. The guy just in front of me got upset with the CM for splitting him and his son up, telling the CM he needed to be with his son in case his son got scared. The son gave his dad a very disgusted and embarrassed look. The kid was as tall as me. He was probably 13 or 14 y/o and around 180lbs. Thankfully the CM didn't budge and told him if they wanted to sit together they would have to go through the regular line. What was really funny was that they were just in front of me again a little while later as we were walking into Soaring. The son was telling the dad that if he couldn't behave and not embarrass him again, that he was riding by himself from now on. It was funny hearing the son chastise the dad, but I felt like saying 'hey, you're in the single rider lane, you'll probably be in a different row from your dad anyway'.

When we were in the single rider line for Test Track they also announced it over a loud speaker that if you are in the single rider line the group will be broken up. The first time we stood in the regular line it said 45 min wait. That was after Test Track being down for 3 hours because of rain. We were in line for over 2 hours. Never again. Its single rider line or FP line.

A funny thing happened to us in April. We were in Fast pass lane and when they escort you to the little room to watch the Guy and his assistant set-up your test schedule, a woman urge her husband to block the door so no one gets in front of their group. I can still hear her voice "Honey, they are trying to get in front of us", We've been on the ride bunches of times we know the words by heart, we let others that have never seen it get a better view. If we could bypass that part we would. The husband was embarrassed but Wifey held her ground. No one got in front of her group. We were behind them, They led them to the first 2 cars (10 in her group) We were led to the 4th car which was boarding at that time. As we (in a car) passed her standing in line, we waved. LOL We enjoy that a lot. We are so bad. :cool1: I should have taken a pic of her. Her look was priceless.

People like that bring out my inner Maleficent too. Sometimes you want to just tell them, GET A GUH-RIP.

That's my main gripe about the single lines. I don't usually do the single lines at WDW but use them all the time at Universal..it's the same thing. People gripe about splitting the group up AFTER they get to the head of the line. I was waiting to ride ROTM last summer and this father decided to scream at the attendant when he couldn't ride with his son. I would have made him exit the line and then return in the stand-by line.

No matter where you go there are people that think rules don't apply to them.

These people are cleary off their nut.

I also saw something (it was everywhere!) where people would be waliking and then would just stop in the middle of a busy pathway! It drives me crazy! That means that everyone behind them has to go around. Sometimes people just aren't thinking!!!!!

I can almost understand someone getting in the wrong line because they're all excited about going on the ride but then to yell at someone at something that was their fault... incredible! Whatever happened to trying to sweet talk someone instead of having a temper tantrum? :confused3

That's awesome! I wonder if she realized that there was no point in rushing and blocking everyone... probably not :rotfl: :goodvibes

I would have no problem with the CM at that point pulling the 6 off the ride and telling them they obviously were in the wrong line and would have to wait in the standby line if they wanted to ride.

DH and I witnessed the same behavior at TT. Once a man and his small son were in the single rider line and were assigned their lines. They of course were split up. The father then started wrangling with all around him to please switch so he can sit with his little boy...so practiced and planned it was plainly obvious; the boy had a smug smirk on his face. Sure enough, someone switched and I saw them going back in the single line right after when I was getting some FPs. I guess it doesn't matter that the people switching with him had been waiting the full time in the regular line to stay together and was splitting up with their family and losing the chance at a family photo;no, it is all about he and his son.

I wonder what other ways this guy is teaching his little son that the system is for suckers, and how the son will act when he's grown up.

I was by myself in the Single rider line for Mission: Space in may, and as ususal for that ride, talked to a few people while waiting. When I got to the front of the line I decided that since the two nice people behind me seemed to be together I would let them ahead of me if the next call for single riders was for only two. That way while they would not be riding next to each other, they could ride at the same time. The call was for two, so I turned to them and told them that if they were together as they seemed to be they could go in fron of me. I got a few odd looks for letting them go, but I knew I would be in the next briefing room. They hadn't asked, and had probably thought that they would be separated, but I figured I could let them ride at the same time if I wanted to. If people had waited in the Single Rider Line and then tried to make me wait longer so that they could ride at the same time I might have said no, but this was a chance for me to make a little magic for the couple that they probably were not thinking would happen. :earsgirl:

Speedway in MK,some guy starts yelling at poor CM for nothing.Ruins everyones evening when a scene like that plays out for before you.
