single picture pages/ question of the day

Hi Mar! I haven't seen your blog lately.. WAY TO GO!!! I'm so not computer savy to utilize a blog...but I love reading yours.. I'm gonna swipe a few of those layouts, do you mind?? I'm scrapping w/ 2 friends for the first time Friday and would love to utilize some of the sketches for my own photos.. I hope to get 10 pages done while I'm there.. My goal is to get the photos picked out tonight/tomorrow.. along w/ paper and embellishments tomorrow night....

I love doing a single photo on a page. I only do it for really great picture and I always do a simple layout with lots of layering. I did one of my son on vacation outside with no coat on while it was snowing. He was wearing grey and white and with the obercast sky and the snow, I chose black and white to make it pop. One of my favorite pages.

I usually have anywhere from 2-6 in a book depending on what the event I scrapped is.

I find them more challenging than a regular layout which I try and always do an even page numer for a spread. I average 4-7 photos for 2 pages.

Buffy - the extra wallet is perfect for small gift albums or exploding boxes

I have done a number of one photo LO. Most commonly they are the icon photos from disney I let them stand alone so to speak. But I have done them with DD for several photos. I am getting better about weeding out photos but I too used to scrap everything. Whoever said that they don't do weird sizes etc I agree most of my photos get printed out 4 x 6 although I tend to crop a fair amount. I have just recently taken to having "photo shot" type photos printed in smaller sizes. They way I did this was cut and pasted the photos into word resized them and taken the word document to Office Max, staples etc. I printed out what would have been 27 photos that never would have fit on the pages the way I wanted onto 3 8 x 10 sheets. Just to share they were a series of photos with DD frosting her own cupcake and eating it, photos from around the world showcase that I wanted on a 2 page LO, and a series of photos of DD in front of the castle (the first time she couls stand on her own, in pig tails too soooo cute, one the WDW people made her "hold" tinkerbell) I melt over the photos.

Scraplift to your heart's content! And I hope you have a great time scrapping with your friends. :)

So, how many single picture pages do you have? maybe 3 per album or event....like a long weekend.

Do you like them? I do actually. I will say I prefer 5x7

What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout? Page: 4
2 page spread 6-9

Anymore since I am so behind in my books and know I will never catch up I have been only printing and scrapping my very best photos. I also now do mainly a 2 page spread for more 1 day events or activity. Same with sports/scouts or in their school books.

I use a lot of 5x7 photos for my books. I also make a slide show of the trip and the future generations and can look at the disc if they want to see more!

I'm a crammer  I do 12 x 12 90% of the time and I'd hate to "waste" all that space:rotfl2: Occasionally I will print out one picture in 5 x 7, but it will still be part of a 2-page layout (and I still generally squeeze in at least one other cropped pic;) )

I mostly cram, but have done a few one pic l/os. I have one of DD when she was about 4 that my father took that I had printed in b/w (5x7). It was the only pic I used for my l/o and is one of my favorites. Btw, she also has pigtails in the pic.:)
