I'm somewhat new to the board and wanted to say Hi and wondering if there were any other single parents out there? My DD (Just turned 1 June 23rd!) and I are going to Disney (with my family) July 21st-27th. Suppppper long drive from Louisiana with a 1 year old but i know she will love it.

:wave2:

I'm a single mom with an 8 year old boy. We've been to WDW the last two summers, so I don't have any experience traveling with a tiny one, but wanted to say hello!

Single dad of a 9 year old girl... though she's down at her mom's for a couple weeks. Summer visitation.

Over here!! :wave2:

Single mom to a just-turned-6-year-old DD. princess: We're about to make our "girls trip" to WDW, and we're bringing Grandma along too, so we'll have 3 generations! We can't wait!! :goodvibes Lucky you being in Louisiana - what a beautiful state! :)

I'm a single mom with two DDs, ages 6 & 7. We've been alone since they were 4 & 5 and have done Disney every year. I always take my sister along to help out and ride the rides with us. We're leaving in 13 days for our annual trip!

Another single mom checking in! My dd10 and I have been going to Disney together for seven years! This August is our 13th (?) trip! Disney is a wonderful vacation for a one-parent/one-child family.

Single mom with two teen girls: 19 and 13. We've been making several trips a year since the youngest was 7. Disney is the only vacation spot I've found where I feel completely comfortable being a mom alone with two girls. Have a great time!

Hi! :wave2: I'm a single mom to an 11yr old boy, and we've been going to WDW and on the Magic together since he was 4. :)

Another single mom here with 2 boys ages 8 & 13. We're going to the world in Sept and bringing my DM along for the ride. She's been anxious to get back there just as much as me. So it'll be 3 generations.

Hello Single mom to dd 7 and dd 4. We will be in disney in sept. with my mom and step dad.

Single mom to one 7 year old girl. We drove from NY to FLA when seh was 2 and it was a great trip, we did aweek at disney and a week on the disney cruise. We drove 10 hours from here to Canada when she was 3. We have been to Disney about 3 or 4 times plus 2 other times on the Disney Cruise. Right now we are relaxing in between activities at Strawberry Park Campground In CT!! I LOVE vacationing with just the two of us, no one else to worry about!

Not single, but there are quite a few of us out there who feel like they could have a better Disney vacation without their DH's. (When you take a horse's rear with you on vacation, you have a horse's rear with you on vacation.)

I hear ya missypie! I asked my kids if they would like to have their daddy meet us in Florida so they could spend part of their vacation with him, and they said, "No mommy. It wasn't fun when Daddy went. You and Nat(my sister) are more fun". So, we've decided just to tell him when we're going and that we'll call from Florida!

:) Another one here. I'm a single mom to DD7, Maddie. We have been on our own since I was 6 months pregnant and done pretty darn good! We've done WDW once (will do again next year), and are getting ready for our 3rd DCL cruise this August and cannot wait!!!:cool1:

On the lonnnng drive part of the post. I can totally relate. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC and are leaving for Baltimore on Monday for a visit with family and a trip into Washington DC. I am already stressing about the drive and she is 7! She does very well traveling (thank God for that!!) but I HATE HATE HATE long car trips, especially around the Baltimore Washington area. :scared:

You will have a terrific trip and make memories that you will forever cherish!

:goodvibes Kelly

Kelly, your daughter is absolutely, completely adorable. princess: Have fun on your next cruise!!
