I am looking for advice I am taking my 2 kids DS 7 DD 6 to Disney for the first time as a single parent, (this is my 5th trip they have been once) I am looking for sugestions do you think they can do a whole day at Epcot or will they get boared? (I love Epcot.)
I am getting 3 day passes but was not going to get the park hopper option .
I know they will go nuts in MK they were there in 01 and loved it and remeber it eaven though they were so little. They still talk about it and MGM.
We are staying in POFQ 4/25-29 Would it just make life easer to have the PH option just incase ?
Any other advice on making things for a 1 parent trip wpuld be great.

I don't think boredom will be the issue, as there is SO much to do in Epcot. Besides the great things in Future World, you could spend a whole day in itself in World Showcase, what with all of the live entertainment!

I went to Steve Soares's site and did a spreadsheet of each act in the World, and what time they are performing...and I have 'mapped' out a plan so that we can hit every one of them! I've seen most of them before, and they're ALL great!

Plus, there's Kidcot Stations in each of the pavilions, where your kids can make a craft....

What MIGHT be a bigger issue is getting tired....You may need to go back to the hotel for some rest & relaxation in the afternoon before hitting the park again. In that case, you WON'T need a hopper ticket (if you go back to the same park you left), but make sure you DO get all hands stamped, and bring your tickets back with you upon your return! :)

Absolutely you can do a whole day at Epcot. It is just filled with things for adults and kids! Spend the whole day and have a great time!!

As a single parent one of the things I need to remember is to not tire myself out too much. If I'm tired I'm grouchy and am less tolerant of my kids tiredness. We pace ourselves and we are much happier.

I love Epcot but my kids don't like to wander and explore as much as I do. At first I was disapointed that I couldn't do everything I wanted but it's the kids vacation as well so I can't do just what I want. I love to watch the performers but my kids aren't thrilled about that so I find if I can combine the live performances with a snack I get more time to watch.

Do NOT miss the whole new Finding Nemo theme at the Living Seas. ESPECIALLY Turtle Talk with Crush. It's GREAT...for kids and adults :teeth:

If they are into computers at all, one of the Innoventions has so much kids stuff...you could spend an hour there easily if they like that sort of thing.

You could definitely do a whole day at Epcot without boredom setting in, IMHO! But if you are staying on site it's easier to split the day....a morning at one park then a hotel break/rest and then an afternoon or evening at a different one.

:rockband: They will have a great time !!:rockband:

Dont miss ""Turtle Talk with Crush"" @ the Living Seas!!

:cheer2: Its Awesome!! :cheer2:

I'm also a single parent. We've been to DW several times. In my opinion it is the perfect vacation for single moms and their kids. I would pay the extra for the Hopper. The kids will want to revisit their favorite attractions. My son really didn't "get" Epcot until he was 8 (last summer). We were going on the 4 day cruise, so we spent a few days before at DW. It was July, very, very hot, and very, very crowded. We spent a whole day in World Showcase. If was the first time that he ever wanted to spend any time at Epcot. He loved going to each country and collecting the stamps on a mask he had made. It wasn't crowded at all. I still think about how much we enjoyed that day.

I think the hopper is important because you can go back to your hotel to swim or rest in the afternoon and then go someplace different in the evening. I usually let my son have a lot of control over where we go and what we do. We'll "take turns" picking the next activity.

I spent a lot of time at the "Dragon Slide" at POFQ on our trip last summer. It was really crowded in the parks (July 4th week) and he was happier playing at the pool than anything else. We had a great time.

Be sure to get the passports for World Showcase. I'm sure they'll enjoy collecting the stamps.

I'd opt for the hopping option. You could do AK and MGM on the same day.
Also, if one park is packed, you'll be able to hop over to another one.

I'm also a single mom. My son and I will be there that week.
