Hi

While we were at DLP in October DH and I used the 'baby swap' a couple of times but generally we didn't need it.

I am thinking of taking the kids on my own (as we have annual passes now it seems silly not to use them and he doesn't have enough hols). This may mean though that several of the rides which we were on fine on cos we had an adult for each child would now be a problem because I think I would need to accompany each of them, and certainly for a couple of the rides DS is too short and so to take DD on I would need to 'baby swap' him - but I don't have anyone to swap with.

Does this mean that things like Space Mountain would be off our list? It was DDs favourite ride. By the same token the Rock N Roll roller coaster was DS's favourite and DD hated it so would need to wait for us to come off - although she would at least be allowed in the queue as she is tall enough.

Any experiences - at 6 and 8 I would need to know that a CM was keeping an eye out for them.

Hi, thats a tricky one.
I think they would let you ride with each of them, however I don't think I would like to leave a child as young as 6 alone, the CM at the baby swap will also be working on the ride exit and helping people of the rides so I doubt very much they could keep watch of a child.

Unfortunately baby swap is only suitable when you go with at least two adults or have an old enough child who can be left on their own. It is not a baby sitting service and as stated above the CM will have their attention elsewhere :)

Would they let the 6yrs old queue with us for Space Mountain? - I don't mind leaving him on his own at the exit for the duration of the ride as its only a couple of minutes and he could step straight through the ride and off the other side to the exit if we get on the right-hand one - but I wouldn't want him on his own while we queued even with a fast pass.

There isn't a problem with the 8 yrs old as she is tall enough to queue for the rocknroll coaster and then to bottle it at the ride if need be. She might even come on it next time as she said she didn't hate it - she just didn't like it. He loved it, so even though he is only 6 I think he would happily sit next to someone else or on his own if he's allowed.

The only other ride I think I have a height restriction problem with is Indiana Jones and I can live without that as it was really dull I thought and I am the only one tall enough to go on it.

Am I right in thinking that if they pass the height restriction they can ride on their own, or are there two heights - a minimum and a minimum but must be accompanied by an adult - thinking about things like Rock n Roll, Thunder Mountain, Buzz etc where they are two-seaters? Most other rides like POTC had seating for 3 or more anyway.

Hi, sorry, I don't think they will let your 6y/o in the queue if they are not tall enough as it is the CM at the entrance of the queue who checks the child's height and for all they know you might be trying to sneak them on the ride, as the CM who is loading the ride would assume that they are tall enough to ride as they were allowed in the queue.
we asked if my dd could queue in the rock n roller coaster to see the pre show and we were told no.

BTW-I am not saying that you would try to sneak your child on the rid., just saying why they would not allow the child in the queue.

A lot of the rides do state that children have to be seven to ride them on their own. I do not know if that applies to all rides, but it was on rides like It's A Small World and Tea Cups.
