Single mom - Searching best price for a DCL package I'm a single mom and wants to take my 5 yr old son on a DCL for the first time, for his birthday on the month of July 2005, can someone tell me how to get the best price for the whole package. I'm in the first stages of searching prices, and also getting involved in this adventure I want to make it happen for my son, I called Disney direct and they quote me for $4,200 for a 7 day land/sea cruise. I was also wondering to get with a group so it can be cheaper.
Anyone can give me some ideas where to start.
Thank you
AP

go to the dreams unlimited website at the top of the page, give them all your info, and they will send you back a price quote. i have used them twice and found them to be the cheapest.

The month of July is the high season. Any cruise during this time will cost $$$.

Try the following and compare!
wdwvacations.com aka Small World Vacations
micdan.com
allseasonstravel.com
costco.com (you have to be a member)

Good luck!

Since he is only 5 have you considered the Fall??? I am booked with my DD on a 7 day Eastern cruise on the Magic (October)in a SPR on Deck 5 (Cat 10) and it is only costing me around $1800. ;) I got in on a group rate discount that MouseEarsVacations was offering. Land and Sea should not be that much different in price.
I checked DD's schedule and booked around the end of the first Quarter cause they have a short week of school. Her Teachers have always been supportive of our trips.
I could never afford to take her in the Summer. So this may be something to check into. We have always sailed Mid-Oct to Mid Nov and loved it!
Good luck! :flower:

Weather is just lovely then! Not to Hot and not to cool... :sunny:

I did some research although I didn't know about these boards until after I booked my cruise. I actually found out that for the cruise I wanted DCL was giving the same price as small world, vacations to go and I believe all ears. If I had been aware of these boards I may have gotten a better deal, but in the end I am pleased with my rate and pleased that I can call DCL myself and get the answers I need. Get quotes from everyone and let them do the work you just make the decision.
Have fun:)

Different time year....

4 of us went cat 11 in July 2004 - Wonder...Cost around $2400. There are 5 of us going (taking my nephew) this Nov 2005. We have 2 cat 10 rooms (connecting) and it's only costing us around $2550. For an extra $150, we're getting another room, split bathroom in each room and we're taking another person along. :jumping1:

We're going for our sons 13th b-day. His b-day isn't until end of January, but Preidents week was too expensive, so we knew we were going to have to pull them from school for 3 days, so we may as well move it up and take advantage of "value" season. It actually will put us right between football and swim seasons...works out good that way also!

Happy Planning! You'll love it!

Duane at CruiseOne....booked all of mine with him.....great service, patient, and super knowledgable.....his pricing is phenomenal....877-280-8796

If you were not set on this July, you may want to look out further. We booked our March 2006 when the rates first came out in October. We will only travel when our kids are out of school (don't flame me, just what we believe) so we always are traveling "peak" times. We have already seen the price of our cruise go up $2,000. I know sometimes it is hard to plan that far out, or there are other things to consider.

We only needed to put down the deposit. The rest of our bill will be due next January.

I will have waited 18 months by the time our cruise rolls around, a long time to wait. Our boys won't know about the cruise until Christmas 2005, I would not survive if I told them now.

Good luck on your quest. I have seen on these boards that many people have had good luck getting good rates, or at least rates they can live with. I hope you can make it work.

Pixie dust for you and your family :flower2:

I've had great luck with cruisevacationcenter.com

They were $300 less than everyone else on our 7 night trip in December, and over $150 less than everyone else on the 4 night cruise.
